Even though we obviously have out own methods, implementing this during staff meetings or decision making processes invites transparency, understanding and involvement. This is most helpful.

Reading through the article made me reflect on some classroom practices as well and how they were very similar.
Some very common sense steps as well. I think sometimes we lose sight of what is really good for the school community (teachers, students and the wider community) and we get bogged down with the catch phrase of the day. Seems to me as teachers we look at our day or the coming day assess the situation, plan for it, reflect on what worked what didn't how can the lesson/s be better, how could i have dealt with a student in a more productive way.

In order to be an effective leader individuals need to be adaptive. Specifically, they need to utilise the resources around them including the expertise of staff, ensuring that they are guided and empowered in the process. The leader is to act as a backbone support, listening to the voices and perspectives of all staff in order to ensure collaboration as this is the most effective way for the school's vision to be achieved.

Therefore if we model compassion, love, kindness, generosity, etc. our students will be able to see such values and qualities in action and hopefully incorporate these in their own lives

This article was very effective in stating many of the qualities and perceptions that leaders and teachers adopt in their practice. Specifically, I found that the "disease of rivalry and vainglory" is very relevant for staff when applying for positions of leadership as it can often become quite selfish as well as the "disease of idolising superiors" in order to benefit themselves. It are these diseases that take away from servant leadership and as individuals like to be served and forget that their role is to serve.
