I never believed that current events could be compared to the theories of political philosophers that lived during the enlightenment. The American system of government is based off of Rousseau's idea of the social contract. The people of the United States and Canada give their consent to be governed by the government. Thomas Hobbs can be found in the article about capitalism and politics in general. For example, do modern politicians seek the good for society or the good for themselves? Voltaire still exists in the religious freedom we enjoy in Canadian society. John Locke exists in the freedom we have. Montesqueiu exists in the different branches of government that we have.

I feel safer now understanding the Trump article. I have comfort in knowing that lost of people have a say in what happens, and that one person cant control everything.

For the case of Bill 62 Quebec has passed on, it is contradictory. Even Though having your face uncovered is a legitimate question of communication, identification and security, but it still violate the human rights of religion.
