Each group will represent a company that specializes in the production of electricity from a renewable source. The students will be told that the government is developing a new energy plan for 2020. In order to achieve their renewable energy target of 15%, they are offering substantial contracts to companies like theirs.

The groups will have some time to research their source and produce a poster with the key facts and advantages of their source. They will have 1-2 minutes to persuade the ‘government’ (a panel of Teacher politicians) to award them a contract, using the posters. The other companies will then have opportunity to question them with the aim of bringing up some of the disadvantages of the group’s source, after which the politicians will make their choices. The group awarded the most contracts will win
