Connectivity:
Drones, often with a smartphone or tablet, can be controlled from afar.Wireless connectivity allows pilots from the viewpoint of the bird to see the drone and its surroundings. They can also use applications for pre-programming specific GPS co-ordinates and create a drone automatic flight path. The ability of the monitor to display charges in real time, an important feature because drones use smaller batteries to keep their weight low, is also a useful feature with wireless connectivity

Rotors:
For its vertical movement, a drone relies on rotors. Drones use their rotor, a propeller fed to the engine, to swing, meaning the drone's downward pull is equal to the gravitational pull against it. If pilots increase velocity, then the rotor will have an upward force that is larger than gravity. If pilots do the opposite and decrease their speed, they will descend.

Accelerometer and Altimeter:
An accelerometer provides the drone with speed and direction information while an altimeter informs the machine of its altitude. These features also help a driver to land slowly and safely and to avoid sinking into an air vacuum known as a wash which can unpredictably pull the aircraft down.

Cameras:
A few drones are equipped with built-in cameras which let the pilot see where the drone flies without having a direct view of the device.

Drone-mounted cameras can help users look at locations that are difficult to reach and they can be a game-changing tool, particularly in search & rescue scenarios.

(Up, Up and Away: How Do Drones Work?, n.d.)

A drone in an unnamed aerial vehicle (UAV) . It usually fucntions at very high frequencies . Basically a drone is a flying robot which can be remotely controlled .The word "drone" stands for dynamic remotely operated navigation equipment. They usually use sattelite based navigation systems such as GPS or WAAS. A drone can also be simultaneously controlled while its flying and can also be programmed to follow a certain route or object , which can be programmed into its software.

1) Fixed Wing Systems :
Fixed wings are usually used to military purposes . They cannot stay in once place compared to some other types of drones but can go low and high as long as its energy permits. They are often used in areas where it is dangerous for human beings to enter. A Fixed wing has the ability to fly faster , higher and carry heavier weights compared to other types of drones. They fly by combining fixed static wings with airspeed. They are better suited for long distance flights

2) Multi Rotor drones :
As the name suggests , they use multiple rotors for generating lift and stability , these types of drones have the ability to hover around , meaning they can stay in a vertical position. They don't require a dedicated landing strip . Compared to other types of drones they make less noise .

3) Hybrid Systems :
A hybrid system is basically a multi rotor drone and a fixed wing drone combined into one , meaning it has the ability to carry weights , travel at higher speeds ,can also hover around as is very efficient for long distance flights .

4) Ornithopters : An ornithopter is an aircraft which usually flies by flapping its wings . It is usually used for imitation purposes , and is usually designed according to whatever bird its supposed to imitate.

5) Mini Drones : A mini drone is simply a smaller version of drones which is normally used for recreational purposes. Due to the small size and the light weight they are also suitable for operation indoors .
(5 Different Types of Drones for Consumers, 2020)

1915-1920:

The first pilotless vehicles were built during the First World War. These early models were launched by catapult or flown using radio control. In January 1918, the US Army started production of aerial torpedoes. The model that was developed, the Kettering Bug, was flown successfully in some tests, but the war ended before it could be further developed.

1930-1945:

The British invented "Queen Bee," a radio-controlled target which is also believed to have resulted in the use of the word "drone" for especially radio-controlled unmanned aircrafts.

1980-1989:

UAVs have also been considered inefficient and expensive. This perception shifted in 1982 when Israel forces used unmanned aircraft with limited losses to achieve victory over the Syrian Air Force. In 1980 the U.S. also began the Pioneer UAV program to develop a cheap drone for fleet operations.

1990-2010:

Mini and micro versions of the UAVs were introduced in 1990. In the subsequent years, an American technology corporation AeroVironment Inc. launched the number of small-sized, fixed-wing surveillance drones such as Raven, Wasp, and Puma. Most countries still use Raven, with about 20,000 units already deployed.

2010-2017:

In 2014 Amazon suggested that UAVs be used to deliver products. Drones have now become a common part of filming and photography. Such commercial drones, however, have seen growing interest not as a result of military impact. Research showed how a drone with 4 or more rotors can be controlled by adjusting the speed of individual rotors.
(Vyas et al., 2018)
