Since I was born my family has loved to go to Florida for vacations. I’m sure you like going on vacations too. Though what if all the beaches in Florida flood? This is why the fossil fuels being burned to create carbon dioxide needs to stop. Antarctica and Alaska are melting, Why? Because when burning these fossil fuels for gas and carbon dioxide, we don't exactly need them. These gasses are going to endanger animals if we don’t stop using them. The more we use it the more the earth’s ice is melting causing over sea level rise. The reflection of the sun melting the ice one by one is killing the people in homes in Alaska meaning the animals won’t be able to sustain themselves to survive causing extinction in the next 10 years." So, after years of planning and construction, families two weeks ago began arriving in the new village of Mertarvik,". "18 families began unpacking belongings in their newly built energy-efficient homes." (“Climate Change Has Finally Caught Up To This Alaska Village”)

Using my analysis from research from reading plenty of text and videos, humans won't be able to adapt so quickly to the water change. Killing habitats all across the world, breaking the world itself we, Senator Stabenow. Can change this together. I know you love your job and your home and your relatives as much as everyone in the world does. Starting from the beginning of a youtube video with professionals correcting everyone on Miami's marine life and how fewer people populate in the next 30 years Miami won't exist anymore. A conclusion or possibility is to “go green” with a refined definition of eco-friendly. That includes no gas, carbon, zero plastic or recycling, eating fresh, and putting less smoke into the air as it is melting the earth and killing animals. Making legislation on companies’ usage of plastic straws, cans, etc. could help protect the earth. Collecting all the debris from the ocean will take far too long to stop the ocean from overflowing, yes it is, in fact, an amazing idea but by the time we hit thirty-plus years it’ll be too late to save Miami and Alaska. People have been voting for putting money on higher mountains or a sea wall. Will we make it in time if we and the world came together to fix this national disaster wiping the face of half the planet. From the investigation, Alaska's biggest government facility stated “Thawing permafrost and erosion has increased flooding risk and caused the land around their homes to crumble and sink,” Using this analysis people are dying from just living their own lives as we do now. (“Maldives Builds Barriers to Global Warming”).

Senator Stabenow, We together know we love to go home and unravel from this exhausting earth that doesn't need to be exhausting. I know I love seeing my family and dogs. But will people in Miami and Alaska be able to do that in the next century? Who knows, maybe even a year. So please save the world with me and go green, and make legislation for all companies to stop using plastic.

Sincerely,

Sophie Malmsten
