Our rights can be limited for the safety of others. One example of this is the ongoing debate of whether we give up rights each day we enter our school. The Tinker vs. Des Moines case is a good example of this. Students who wanted to invoke their first amendment right to freedom of expression to protest the Vietnam war, were being limited by the teachers who said that they were disrupting the learning within the school for other students. While the supreme court did rule in favor of the Tinkers, it is not applicable for all situations.

Other places may have laws that require u to wear masks and you could get fined for that.

Our freedoms are not absolute- like our freedom of speech and actions. These freedoms should be limited when the safety of others are at risk. For example, we do have the right to freedom of speech, but if someone were to make terrorist threats, even as a joke, they are subject to being reported because they may be deemed as a threat. Not only that, but they don't know if others around them have been a victim of terrorism or have lost someone to terrorism. We also have the right to drink, but it is illegal to drink and drive because it affects others by intruding on their safety on the road.
