Question #2: AI Generative Response to Morning Sickness Preventatives!

Question #2: I used Chat GTP to answer the question: Ways to deal with morning sickness.

To manage morning sickness, pregnant women can eat small, frequent meals and avoid spicy, fatty, or greasy foods that trigger nausea. Starting the day with dry foods like crackers before getting out of bed can help, as can sipping water or ginger tea throughout the day to stay hydrated. Ginger candies, peppermint tea, and protein-rich snacks like yogurt or nuts can also ease symptoms. Lifestyle changes, such as getting out of bed slowly, wearing comfortable clothing, and getting plenty of rest, are beneficial. Some women find relief using acupressure bands, which apply pressure to the wrist’s P6 point. Identifying and avoiding nausea triggers, like strong smells, can reduce discomfort. In severe cases, consulting a healthcare provider for treatments like vitamin B6 supplements or anti-nausea medications is recommended.

Question #2: My Comparison with the Textbook!

Chat GTP briefly explains ways to get rid of morning sickness without going into detail, while the textbook helps the audience deeply understand the science behind this feeling and what to do to prevent it. They are both aimed at different audiences. If I wanted a quick remedy for my morning sickness, I would ask Chat GTP. It gives direct remedies that the textbook does not, like drinking ginger tea, protein-snacks, and ginger candies in the morning. However, if I wanted to really understand my body and the way I feel I would read the textbook. This helps people understand themselves and people around them, even if they are not pregnant. Chat GTP basically simplifies the textbook and gets straight to the point. For example, In our textbook, on page 46, “First Trimester: Often Feeling Tired and Ill,” explains how women’s hormones, like the production of progesterone, trigger certain symptoms like tiredness and dizziness. Chat GTP doesn’t explain the science behind nausea and tiredness, but how to identify and avoid nausea triggers like strong smells. I noticed that our textbook answers certain questions we have and addresses them, like why it might be good to stop eating certain foods if the baby needs a lot of nutrients. It turns out that morning sickness prevents the mother from eating spoiled meats or plants that could be toxic to the baby. The textbook page 46, “First Trimester: Often Feeling Tired and Ill,” states how strong odors cause women to gag. While ChatGTP states that some women use acupressure bands to alleviate that sense of nausea. They are both similar because they help women alleviate their pain and understand their bodies.

Question #4: The Disadvantages and Advantages of Breastfeeding!

https://www.womenshealth.gov/breastfeeding/making-decision-breastfeed

I chose this article because it is similar to the textbook in the sense that it does not impose any biases towards breastfeeding. Both the article and the textbook list pros and cons of breastfeeding. The article explains clogged ducts, pain while breastfeeding, infections, sore breasts and how to prevent or take care of these problems. The heading, “Breastfeeding challenges,”talks about the health benefits of breastfeeding for your newborn and states accredited sources that state it prevents asthma, diabetes, and cancer for your baby. It also provides steps on how to breastfeed for new mothers, in contrast to the textbook. The textbook, “Breast Milk: Nature’s First Food,” explains how breast milk made babies more resilient to the flu! The textbook page 86, “Barrier #2: Social Stigma,” talks about the idea that women are embarrassed to breastfeed their children in public and it is seen as a shameful act, which the article does not highlight. It also negatively affects their ability to breastfeed their babies at home. The textbook, page 86, “work demands,” addresses the problem that mothers who work full time are not able to properly breastfeed their children compared to a stay at home mother. Their babies will differ in health advantages because of this. The article that I choose does not address societal issues like the textbook does.

Question #5: Creative Verse Analytical Intelligence!

I use analytical intelligence when I am studying and find it quite fun! I am interested in working in the medical field and it's important to be able to quickly make medical diagnoses. When I was taking an assessment class I had to “fake diagnose a patient.” I had the symptoms and the health history and had to put everything I knew to come to a conclusion for the “patient”. It's quite tricky because there can be multiple diagnoses and you have to strategically choose the right one. I think it will be fun once I get the hang of it! I use creative intelligence when I am at work. Sometimes I ask the customers to give us a review, so I put something unique every week next to the code. People get excited to see what is going to be there. This week I put fortune cookies. For every review you get one. Last week I put out cookies! I don't always like putting out treats, so next week I think I am going to give out pins.

Question #6 The Giver

The Giver is one of my favorite books ever. It is about a society that is deprived of freedom of speech, culture, and individuality. Everyone’s memories were taken away and Jonas is on a mission to return them back to everyone. In this society, everyone wears the same clothes and is not allowed to form an opinion of their own. They were taught this system they adopted prevents sadness and grief that they experienced when they had their memories. So it is for “the greater good.” Jonas feels like he is crazy for being the only one who wants a way out of this uniform system, while everyone else is heedless. This topic relates to Chapter 9, page 269, “Kohlberg’s Stages of Moral Judgment: Developing Internalized Moral Values, states that teenagers innately develop the need for justice and change, whether it's for themselves or their communities. This relates to the Giver because Jonas is a teenager that has no idea what life is like outside his uniform community, yet has such a strong urge to change it. To express himself in a way nobody around him has done before. Where did this urge come from? His urge for justice and self-expression was so strong that he rebelled against everyone, and this is exactly what Kohlberg explains. Kohlberg says that teens are the best at questioning unjust rules and using their voices.

The Mountain is You, by Brianna Wiest is a great book that explains the way social media has an impact on our thoughts, even at a young age. It talks about other factors that influence the way we view ourselves, like past experiences we never got over. It gives advice on how to get over these past experiences so that the growth can happen. This book would be great for teens because it really allows you to understand the importance of the way we think about ourselves. This relates to Chapter 8, Body Image Issues, Trending: Instagram and Body Distress, page 242, teens reported that they feel worse about their looks after seeing attractive people on social media. The textbook and book both view social media as a negative impact on teens mental health.

Wow! I honestly found this quiz helpful because I am very indecisive when it comes to choosing a career. This helped me recognize my strengths! I wasn’t expecting my result to be high at social. I expected investigative and a little bit artistic. The questions that had to do with computers or anything with technology was an absolute no. I am so bad at technology! This is crazy because I’ve always had an urge to become a teacher. I do like English and literature, but I can see myself more as a science teacher. It's always been at the back of my mind. I am torn between teaching or something in the medical field. For now, I decided to go with PA but then teach afterwards with that degree. That way I am teaching what I am interested in. These results were much more helpful and accurate than I thought.

Question #8: My Experience with AI!

This is my first time using generative AI for an assignment. It was cool to compare and contrast it with an actual article. You can understand so much more from an article that includes questions and research rather than AI. I've used Chat GTP to explain a complex concept for me. It breaks it down and makes words easier to understand. For example, my first time using it was baking a banana bread recipe. I did not feel like looking for an article or watching a video because I was in a rush. I wanted clear steps in bullet points on how to make it and the ingredients I need. For something like a recipe, I would say it is pretty credible. Chat GTP is not that credible if you want a deep understanding of something. It is only good if you want something told to you at a surface level. If you are researching a topic that needs to be accurate then I would definitely not suggest using an AI source. It is best to do the research on your own by making sure the websites are from credible organizations like (.gov or the CDC). AI sources do not care if the websites are credible or not. It is programmed to give you information from any website on google. This is pretty expected because it's a programmed computer and if you want accurate information you have to find it on your own.
