I think a lot of people are going to pic farming or something like it for this assignment but it is what I think of for plants role in society and environment. I like this picture because even though these people are in the city, they are growing their own food. No matter where people are they need plants to survive, one way or another. Let it be for food, like the people in the picture, or for oxygen. Without plants we wouldn’t be able to survive at all.

I picked this video because not only does it go over the basics of photosynthesis but how it was discovered. Throughout middle school and high school, I’ve been taught about the different steps of photosynthesis but I was never told how it was discovered. I thought this video was good pick because maybe others in the class might not know how Photosynthesis was discovered as well. I also picked this video because it has Bill Nye the science guy narrating it and he’s cool.

Dicranum scoparium or Broom moss, is a species of dicranid moss which is a family of mosses in bryophytes. It usually forms tufts or mats on soil in dry to moist forested areas. Broom moss can be distinguished by its leaves, which strongly curve to one side.

I know a lot of people are going to pick tundra because of global warming but I believe it is the one most affected by it. Many scientists believe that global warming could destroy most tundra biomes for good if it keeps getting worse. If the tundra climates keep getting warmer, it will not only destroy them but many other biomes as well. I picked this picture because it is pretty and because of the melting ice.

The Neolithic revolution had both positive and negative effects on the world but I believe they were mostly positive. People started coming together and as a society which resulted in farming and trade becoming a thing. People started building walls and houses, they also started helping one another out. I defiantly believe that the pros outweighed the cons in this situation.

I think this picture is a good example of the 3rd agriculture revolution. I believe this because the 3rd agriculture revolution brought about intensive mechanization, like the machine in the picture. It also brought us biotechnology or genetic engineering, which make our crops bigger. I picked this picture over a genetic engineering one because most farmers have to have a machine like this nowadays to farm their crops.

There are other plant chemicals that are probably more impactful on the world but I picked this one because it helps my dad.

I know this picture is very science fiction but I believe that it is not far off of how the earth will look in the future. Throughout the years cities have just been getting bigger and bigger. More forests have been cut down to make room for cities or houses every year. As cool as this picture is it also shows how polluted the word is going to get if we keep going like we are.
