Being an athletic trainer you are around athletes all day. You must have the skills for the job or else you will not get one. The top three skills required by athletic trainers are #1. Attention to detail because you must watch what each individual is doing and how you can improve that. #2 would be good decision making skills because you must choose what to do next and what they need to do when they need your help. If you cant make a decision than you cant benefit the people relying on you. #3 is having interpersonal skills. You need to have a good personality and ethics so you can create a good relationship with the people you work with.

With any job you have there are always going to be benefits and down sides. the downsides of being an athletic trainer are the pay,the hours and the mental stress. The workweek is very long especially at schools. The hours are very long and the pay is not very high. These two things create alot of mental stress on top of making sure players are healthy. The benefits of this profession are way more than the downsides. watching someone benefit from you and become successful is worth every moment. Also Helping someone recover and work to regain strength and confidence is a great thing.
