Title I is a program that allocates funds to school wide programs to be able to upgrade the entire educational program of a school that serves a student body made up of more than 40% of students from low-income families.

Title I was one of five titles introduced in Congress on January 12, 1965 and was passed by Congress on April 9, 1965. President Lyndon Johnson signed it in front of  a one room school house on his ranch on April 12, 1965.   • Provide Student Achievement at the Highest Level
  • Students Graduate from San Angelo ISD college and Career ready
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility and design/ implement a facilities plan that addresses current and future needs of the district in order to fulfill the vision, mission, beliefs, and goals adopted by the board.
  • Improve communications between campus and all stakeholders
  • Secure and retain an effective staff that is reflective of and responsive to the campus student body
  • Sustain a safe and secure environment
  • SMART Goals = Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-Bound
  • While some of these goals are SMART goals, some of them need to be adjusted to meet the requirements to be a SMART goal.

  • Lee Middle school had increased communication through several outlets: swift K12, Twitter, Instagram, E-News, REMIND. An active staff for safety has also been key in this improvement. 
  • The PTO has played an important role in connecting the school and community, working together to provide opportunities and support to our students and staff. They have offered movie night, Incentive days, family feast, and family game night just to name a few. 
  • REMIND has been a great tool for communication but as a campus, we have outgrown it. We are piloting swift K12 as a communication system for our families and staff. It seems to be working well. 
  • Lee has made an effort to increase our social media posts on Twitter and Instagram and on the LEE PTO page.
  • E-News (a newsletter via email) is very effective in communicating announcements and ideas.

  • RTI plan to support student achievement goal
  • Several staff developments have been used to address the student achievement goal. 
  • Monthly staff meetings, weekly PLC meetings, regularly updated website, parent letters, student planners for organization and parent communication. E-News, REMIND, open house, tours and other efforts. 
  • In order effort to retain staff that is highly qualified, professional development  opportunities, mentor programs and learning walks to observe classrooms have been put in place.  
  • Monthly safety drills are planned to sustain a safe and secure environment on the campus.
