According to the BBC Earth video, “How Does an Owl’s Hearing Work?” Owls use their extraordinary hearing to listen to their prey. Hunting can be difficult for owls during the day, because of competition from other predators and layers of snow hiding their prey. Therefore, owls rely on their hearing to help them find their prey. Since the students have been playing on the field for years, it has become flatter, therefore the animals that were once prey to the owls have moved since they no longer have a place to hide.

Based on the video titled, What is a Barn owl Pellet the speaker describes that different birds and owls swallow things that they cannot digest and after one night feeding the hair and bone from their prey is formed into a pellet and then regurgitated. Based on the dissection of the pellet in the video I think the pellet found by the grandpa in the book, Whit Owl, Barn Owl shows evidence of a field vole. My evidence is that the lower jaw bones shown in the video are similar to those illustrated in the reading (p.10).
