• This week students have completed their Measurement Unit test.

• We have started our Geometry unit, identifying 3D shapes.

• We have compared the similarities and differences between some shapes.

Next week

• Next week, we will be identfiying fractions of a shape, learning key vocabulary to describe shapes such as; vertices, edges and faces.

2. ESL

This week

• Students completed the unit 2 assessment.

• Students started Unit 3 - Ready, Steady, Go!

• Vocabulary: Action verbs: wave,stand, hop, flap, wiggle, nod, fall,shake, clap, tap, roll Parts of the body: body, nose, foot,head, hand, tummy, fingers, toes, leg, arm

• Language focus: can and can't for ability

Next week

• Students will continue with Unit 3 - Ready, Steady, Go!

• Students will identify action verbs (wave,stand, hop, flap, wiggle, nod, fall,shake, clap, fall, swim, fly and climb) and practiced using them in sentences to show ability.

• Students will focus on can and can't for ability. Example: Can you swim? Yes, I can. I can swim. No, I can't. I can't swim.

• Vocabulary: waving, making, writing, ripping, cutting, swimming, watching TV, skipping, eating, playing, riding, clapping, hitting a ball

3. SCIENCE

This week

• Students learned how forces can make something move faster or slower.

• They identified push and pull forces, changing the speed of a range of objects.

• VOCABULARY WORDS : picture, diagram, fast, faster, slow, slower, direction, turn, fall or drop.

Next week

• Next week, students will learn how different forces can change the direction of an object.

• They will be making a prediction, investigating their ideas and writing the results.

4. GP

This week

• Students learned about safe touch. Please read the attached letter for aditional information.

Next week

• Unit 2 - Family matters: Students will discuss the similarities and differences of how we spend our free time.
