Natural means organic, or made by nature, things such as Vines and trees are natural, you can find them in the wild. Synthetic means man made or human made, synthetic things are things that you wont find out in the wild unless someone has placed it there, things like ropes, plastic, houses, these are synthetic.

My piece describes what cycle crude oil goes through to become Synthetic, and how it starts from being natural to being synthetic. Step 1 is from dead animals and plants turning into crude oil, and step 2 could either go two ways, it could be turned into gasoline, which then would be turned into petrol, which is fuels for cars, or it could have gone a different route and became plastic, and then become Polysyrene, which is used in toys, and takes a while to bio degrade, and then it turns into toys, and that would be the end of the cycle.

Some good things about Synthetic diamonds are that they take the shape and the same chemical and molecular bond that natural diamonds take up, and they are cheaper and they don't have a risk of death to get them. But some bad things are that they are still special, but not as special as diamonds that are natural. Some good things about natural diamonds are that they are special because they were formed over millions of years and take a lot of people to get a single diamond. One bad thing about real diamonds are that they take a lot of people to get them and those people are at the risk of death every second when they are in mines searching for these prized gems.

Some things such as dyed wool or cotton are a unique way to make something natural or synthetic. If you use cotton or wool that you find on sheep or animals and dye it a color, it can make it synthetic or keep it natural. If you dye it a color like blue while using a natural dye made from natural things and resources, it is still natural, but if you dye it with a dye that isn't natural, then it becomes synthetic.
