By Morris Gleitzman.
This novel is about a young Jewish boy growing up in the 1930s in a Catholic orphanage in the German mountains. This boy has two secrets: one is that his parents are both alive, and two is that he’s Jewish (which the other children don’t know). His parents told him when they left him that they were going to find more books, as they owned a bookshop, and they promised him that one day they would send him a message when they would collect him. He has to escape the orphanage and find his family before their parents get killed.

Susan Campbell Bartoletti's The Boy Who Dared, published in 2008 by Scholastic Press, recounts an episode taken from her 2005 book Hitler Youth. The Boy Who Dared is a historical novel based on a real person named Helmut Hübener. The novel takes place in Nazi Germany just after it has formed. The Boy Who Dared. Courage is one of the biggest themes in this book. Helmuth has a lot of courage for a boy his age especially since he is rebelling against Hitler the most powerful man in Germany. If you want to learn more about this book I suggest reading it.
