Your task is to design what Singapore should look like in 2035 and the role youth play in it. 

What kind of Singapore do we want to live in and how do we get there? 

E.g. In 2035, Singapore will be a nation where…

• AI improves life without leaving anyone behind (Innovation and AI)

• Growth and sustainability go hand in hand (Environment and sustainability)

• Everyone has equal opportunities to thrive (Social compact)

• Culture and identity stay strong in a modern world (Arts and culture)

• Globalisation improves, forming greater connections (Regional and Global affairs)

Do remember to indicate your group numbers as the title of your entrees.

E.g.

• Job disruptions (AI taking over)

• Ageing population (how do we not leave anyone behind?)

• Global tensions (how do we ensure the new generation stays open-minded to regional differences?) 

• Climate change increasingly worsens (Technology is prioritised over nature and environment)

• Maintain strong diplomatic relationships with multiple global powers

• Diversify trade partnerships to reduce over-dependence on any single country

• Stay informed about global issues (climate, wars, economy)

• Develop global skills like communication and adaptability

eco-friendly policies that allow sustainable, indigenous, and biodiverse ecosystems to prosper, as well as an environmentally conscious community so we can live in a place that lasts for generations

Government can invest in Sponge City concept, to increase the efficiency of our sewage system to cope with unpredictable rainfall ( so SG don't flood )

Landfill:

Greater efforts towards recycling, zero waste, propaganda to reduce fast fashion to reduce wastage. People should be educated to better sort their waste to enhance the effectiveness of recycling, so that less waste gets to the landfill. Food waste can also be fed to local farms. Youth can step to advocate for recycling. Instead of putting public dustbin in isolation, governments can also place recycling sorted bins beside so that people can recycle in public. Governments can offer incentives or penalise companies for creating waste and not recycling.

Lack of manpower:

Attract foreign workers to Singapore with scholarships. Replace blue-collar workers with robots while upskilling workers to take on jobs related to technology. Encourage such workers through school programmes or scholarships.

Schools can invite guests to educate and give talks about the arts to students

Youth can be more open-minded towards the arts (learning and appreciating different types of arts). Youth can also educate their family about the importance of art/heritage to convince family members to allow youth to pursue these types of careers

• Multinational collaboration amongst countries, especially target to ASEAN. This way, participating countries can exchange information, e.g. their development on eco friendly technology, this way it can speed up the innovation of such machinery.

• Any companies that plan on using machinery has to go through a check to ensure that it is as environmentally friendly as possibly, fail to meet the threshold and they will not be allowed to operate.

Organisations/schools

• Send experts on environmental sustainability and AI to collab and work on these projects.

• conduct workshops using funding from government

• Companies should use more eco friendly machinery, or eco friendly measures to be as eco friendly as possibly

• Companies promote workers/ schools send students to sign up for workshops on environmental sustainability

• If companies reach a certain target, they will receive more incentives

Youths

• Educate themselves on environment sustainability

• Proactively participate on workshops conducted by government or organisations

• Pull their friends into joining these with them

• Post on social media -> make more people more interested aka raise awareness globally

- causes large tech companies to take up land space to set up data centers

- depletes water resources in the cooling systems

• can teach students and teachers to use AI efficiently and not to misuse or overuse

• raise awareness of the negative impacts AI has on the environment

Government:

• invest in cleaner and renewable energy sources

• invest in research and development on how to make usage of AI energy efficient and reduce its impact on the environment

Youths:

• read up on AI's negative impacts

• raise awareness via social media

• the government can create more natural green spaces in singapore instead of hdbs or infrastructure <— we lack natural spaces <— small country, govt. has less concern for natural spaces and more concern for housing and amenities etc. (government)

• think of more sustainable ways to power and maintain data centres <— e.g. replace the use of water for cooling down data centres with another method instead (organisation)

• promoting more sustainable ai by the youth to the citizens, and using more eco-friendly ai <— better in long-term <— learn and preach? (youths/schools)

• ^^ schools can have courses and timeslots for youths to be educated on the use of ai and to use it as a tool to maximise their own potential instead of heavily relying on it, and schools can promote the use of more sustainable ai as well so that the students can learn and use their knowledge to promote ai to their families/friends

2. Schools can ensure students actually learned the material by ensuring final grades are tied to short, live interviews where students must explain their work and answer unexpected questions on the spot.

3. Instead of asking AI to "write this summary," youths can write the summary themselves and tell the AI, "Act as a tough critic and find the logical flaws in my writing."

Government can implement laws to fine any offenders to deter people from littering.

Government can drive community efforts .For example community centers can host events such as picking up trash in local community to foster a sense cleanliness and develop a habit to clean after yourself

Singapore partners with a mix of non-governmental organisations, corporate advocates, and government agencies to drive sustainability. e.g. Singapore Environment Council for green consumerism.
