Dafne speaks Spanish at home and I only speak English. We have different holidays to celebrate she celebrates Cinco de Mayo and Day of the Dead, I do not but we do celebrate the same Christian holidays at home. I see my extended family often, and my Grandma lives with me but Dafne doesn't see her family as often because most live far. For traditions, we have some differences on Christmas she opens presents at 12, and I open them the next morning. For similarities, we do the same things for fun play with our dogs and hangout with friends.

Rylon and I celebrate the same christian holidays such as Christmas, thanksgiving, birthdays.

Rylon sees her family really often like almost every weekend and for special holidays but I only see my extended family during the summer when they come and visit.

Rylon has a tradition to open her Christmas gifts in the morning of Christmas day and I have a tradition to open gifts on 12:00am of Christmas day.

Riley and her family have many traditions for example Christmas. She opens her stocking last and makes cookies on Christmas eve.

Overall, Riley and I have very similar culture values. We both enjoy the same kind of music and have a lot of the same interests like shopping or hanging out with friends. We eat the same kinds of food and have the similar traditions on Christmas. We are close to our families and learn in simialr ways.

Emma and I have very similar cultural values and traditions within our families. We have similar family dynamics and celebrate the same holidays. Both of our families are Italian so we make certain holidays important like Christmas in which we both attend mass on special occasions. Emma and I both listen to pop music and see our close family often. We eat a lot of Italian food at home and some other American foods like sandwhiches and salads. Both of our families emphasize the importance of manners and helping out around the house. For fun, Emma and I both play sports (field hockey and lacrosse), we hangout together and with our friends, and love to get food and workout. Our culture is very close knit and dedicated to our family. We love our family a lot and show that support to our siblings on a daily basis.

1. Kendall speaks only English, and Hippolyte speaks French, English, and German.

3. Hippolyte doesn't have family traditions (that he knows about), but Kendall puts a pickle ornament on her Christmas tree every year.

4. What's a tradition important to your family?

   a. Jon said normal Christmas traditions. For my family, we don't really have any traditions, other than spending time together during important times.

5. Does your family follow sports?

   a. Jon said he follows football and baseball, and supports the philly teams for both. For my family, our favorite sports to follow are both football and hockey.

Hippolyte has similar celebrations in his culture: Christmas, Easter, Birthdays. However he does not celebrate Thanksgiving, unlike me.

While he does get pizza and fast food, he does so rarely, while I can get it around once a week.

Neither of us see our extended family all that often, around twice a year.

Hippolyte categorized French culture as one with deep attachment to gastronomy and art, while I categorize American culture as a hodgepodge of many cultures with importance placed on hard work and democracy.

We both appreciate hanging out with friends, and we have similar downtime hobbies. We both also listen to similar music, rock and pop.

We also both celebrate cultural traditions at Christmas time. My family does the Italian tradition of the 7 fishes on Christmas eve, and Cecilia's family celebrates the Polish Christmas meal. Another difference during holidays, is that Cecilia and her family have a tradition of dressing down for Christmas and Thanksgiving, whereas my family dresses up for holidays.

She said family friends honesty and being kind are important to her. This is also similar to me.

She celebrates christmas, thanskgiving, and birthdays a lot which is also what me and my family put emphasis on.

For fun, she plays soccer and does makeup which is different from me because I run.

She also has manners in her family like apologizing for mistakes and saying please and thank you which I also do in my family.
