The Castle of São  Jorge is the castle of Lisbon, the capital of Portugal and is located on the highest hill of the historical center of the city. It is one of the main historical and tourist sites of the city.
The castle is a fortress built by the Moors in the first half of the 11th century; It was a military garrison that only in case of siege could accommodate the governor and the nobles of the city.
One of the most beautiful attractions of the castle of Sao Jorge is the "darkroom", Inside the Ulysses Tower, dedicated to the founder of the city.
The Belvedere of Sao Jorge, is the best vantage point to admire the city from above.
