The Rescue

It is March 5, 1973 ,early morning mean while David's(A 10 year old child) angry mother is yelling at his older brothers ,David is in a rush trying to finish washing the dishes before his mother comes otherwise there will be no breakfast and he is really determined to get breakfast since he didn't have dinner last night.He hears his mother's foot steps stomping toward the kitchen and then takes out his hands out when his is caught and is smacked in the face by his mother he stands up back up with tears on his face.David stands there waiting for his mother to leave she suddenly walks away in anger.David finishes his chores and dishes and is later rewarded with his brothers breakfast leftovers he gobble the cereal before his mother changes her mind ,David is the taken to school by his mother who she tells him "Tell em ...Tell em you ran into a pole"(Pelzer,5) David is late to class so he has to walk through the Administrators office he is then pulled by the nurse who checks him she asks questions about wounds and bruises he has all over his body being scared of his mother says he ran into a pole.A police officer comes who investigates and is later agreed to be taken to the police department away from his mother.

Good Times

David remembers all the good times he had with his family before their dad left them and before all his abuse started.David had the perfect parents they lived in Daly city California his mother was always working hard in the house to make David's father proud The mother would cook for the family clean the house when dad was at work the mother would take out her children to eat and tours around the city.They would decorate the house on special holidays as a family they would go the trips as family ,David's favorite days where the holidays where they would spend time together and especially on spring where they would get taken to the park for a picnic as a family David remembers hid mother hugging him tight from behind and could feel his mothers heart which where his best moments in his life.

Bad boy

Through out time the David's family dramatically change with his mother relationship,with discipline turning to punishments that grew out of control it was so bad where he sometimes could not walk nor had strength with time he had become scared of his own mother when he did a bad behavior his mother would send him to face towards a wall and would be sitting there until one of his brothers asked mother if David could play .Mothers behavior changed radically from being and active and loving mother to being a mother who spend most of her day lying on the couch dressed only in a bathrobe she would only get up to get drinks or eat left over food.David had so much fear that every time mother got up he would go hide begging mother would lay back on the couch.Over time mother did not find facing the wall effective she then changed David's punishment to being smacked on the face and mother would then force him to repeat to himself im a bad boy. While the child's father was at work mother would yell at his brother's and him at one point his mother yelled at her children for her losing something she made them look all over the house,David forgot what they where looking for so he went to ask mother and mother found it as a as a joking question and smacked David.Mothers abuse became so bad to the point where she forcefully burned Davids hand in the stoves flame.

The Fight For Food

After summer and the burnt indecent David got new cloth.David's mother would forget to feed him and breakfast was not enough, on a good day David was allowed left overs of cereal only if he finished his chores before school. At nights David would be left hungry with an empty stomach all he could think of was food imaging food he wished he had.Soon after being starved David started to go to school early to go steal food from other students lunch bags he had fear he would get caught any time now since he's been doing it often.After several day student began to notice missing food from their bags they caught him and reported him .The principle contacted his mother this lead to David getting less food and more beatings.The fight for food became worse David's father was his only hope father would try to sneak in some food for him he would try to make deals with mother to let him eat but never worked all this would lead to David's parents arguing while he was forced to be in the basement David's life became harder since he had to sneak every food he can find but there where punishments if he was caught Davids mother would force him to work a lot for so little food at times he would sneak little food since he was forced to clean the dinner table for his mother and brothers he would sneak in food to the basement he had a full meal so he gazed down and smiled ready to eat.

The Accident

David still had trouble and his abuse became worse still not getting food and worse punishments David's mother and father and brothers where all controlled by mother to the point where David's only hope (his father) also gave up and listen to mother David was treated as the Families Slave One night David was called up and had been given 20 minutes to finish the dishes and so much chores for little food mother was talking to much where David started today dream mother then yelled at David and grabbed a knife and threatened to stab him mother was dunked so David didn't think much of it.David saw a blurred pop out of his eye and felt a sharp pain on his lower chest and his body gave out losing balance and passing out.David later woke up to mother covering to wound and talking to him with a sweet voice for the meanwhile they did not take him to the hospital he sneaked up to dad asking for help but father did not care anymore David was angry at him soon he was put back to wash the dishes after he was done he was sent to the garage where mother was awaiting him to clean the blood from the wound David then gave out and leaned against mothers chest and was waiting for mother to yell but did not mother then asked David if he wanted to play with his brothers he was confused on why mother was treating him nice he thought the abuse was over.David later realized his abuse wasn't over and was still treated like a slave with a stab wound on his upper chest David ended up curing himself and midnight suffering with pain in the basement.

While Father Is Away

After the accident David's father spent less and less time at home making excuses that he had extra shift but David did not believe him David had so much fear because father was his only hope who helped him with dishes he considered father as his protector.David and his father had a great bond they would keep secrets to each other ,father promised David that he would get them out of that madness house where they two would live a better life but David knew it was all a fairy tale since he knew it would not happen.All that came to an end when David's mother put an end to it making father give up and spend rarely his days off at home and only coming for a few minutes on some day's eventually ,father knelt down to say sorry to Davids because he was leaving home David's spent a few hours crying then got over it mother's punishments got worse making David starve up to 10 days even if he tried to beat mother's time limits he never got food mother would also lock up every food and including the fridge mother would abuse David even worse since father left she even made a new punishment where she locked up David in the bathroom with ammonia and Clorox making him have difficulty breathing.Mother than went into labor and he was happy because he would be free ,father treated David the best way he can giving him doubles on food.After mother came back she treated them nicely and telling David that she wants to change their life routine David thought she was joking he lived a normal and best life after 2 days a lady came to the house and ask questions to David that's when David then realized it was all planned by mom so she can get away with it.David did tell the lady she had beaten her when he was bad when the lady left mother changed to the mother she was and beat David.Father then left one morning and David cried because he knew father would not come back.

The Lord's Prayer

David was not a believer of god David would pray to god but nothing ever worked besides one time he prayed that his mother got sick so he wouldn't have to suffer as said the next morning mother woke up sick and did not get up from the couch.David was sent to school where he would also get bullied by classmates. One time he even let out his anger and ran out the classroom he had a teacher who he told the life he was living the teacher treated him the best he could David got a reward at school where he showed his mother but mother only gave him negative feed backs and ripped his paper she also told him she wished David was dead and he was just a nobody an "it" David understood that these words where not coming from all the booze but from mothers heart.David wished he was dead with classmates also encouraging him to jump off a bridge .David's mother and father finally separated from each other Davids hopes went down he knew he would not survive mother would treat his older brother nice where mother would let his brothers beat him. David whispered to him self "and deliver me from evil Amen"
