The author provides multiple viewpoints regarding the moment the Titanic struck the ice burg because, the author wants to give the reader a imagery of what is going on and how it looks, and then we can picture it and understand more about what happened that night. The text states that people felt a jar, when the ship struck the ice burg. So this sentence in the text means that people on board felt the ship moving so when I said that the author uses imagery to show what is happening on the ship, It is describing what is going on the ship too.

In conclusion multiple view points are helpful because the more eye witness there is the more likely it is true

The reasons why the author provides many different POV's (point of views.) because he wanted to include everyone's train of thoughts or opinion on whats going on in the titanic and what everyone is thinking about during this event. If he didn't include there thoughts then he dose not have a lot or any of eye witness accounts and that can be make the story all over the place if you include what the people who lived from the event then you can have more details and info to back you up. Also that can be like a good part for the story when the jar happened because he did that he tells us how everyone feels about the situation or what in remind them of. Like the little girl and Mrs. Walter they both had different opinions were different. on pg 188 it states, Marguerite Frolicher, a young Swiss girl accompanying her father on a business trip, she could only think of the little lake ferries at Zurich making a sloppy landing . Softly saying to herself, "Isn't that funny . . . we're landing!" also on the same page mrs. Walter opinion is, ''Mrs. Walter B. Stephenson recalled the first ominous jolt when she was in the San Francisco earthquake- then decided this wasn't that bad." As youy can see they are different opinions." That's why the Author includes many POV's about the titanic.
