When I taught in PreK, I assigned a color project for my students. The purpose of this assignment was to learn new vocabulary and to develop oral expression. The previous teacher who had done this project suggested to have their students draw items that were (i.e red) or whatever color of the week was. Since we had iPads in the room, my TA and I assisted students in taking pictures of the color of the week and printing them out to make a classroom collage. We also allowed for students to make short videos at home so that they can investigate what items of the color of the week that they have at home. We showed the video to the students during the morning meetings.

The list can range from: podcast, videos, newspapers, etc.

Along with the option, I provide a clear list of requirements or a rubric that outlines what needs to be included in order to meet the learning objectives. It supports different learning styles and allows for flexibility in content delivery and assessment.

Last year was my first year teaching. I did not know what the icons were or what they represented until our campus G/T liaison came to my classroom and moved the icons throughout my room to showcase what they represented. She then came in and explained it to me and my class.

I like to incorporate technology as far as allowing my students to use voice to chat or posting discussions and using a recording option to explain their thinking. I make sure to give all students these opportunities but I could be better with consistency

I believe that I am on the developing scale because I am lacking strategies on ways that I can support my higher learners. My focus is always on the struggling students and how to support them and I never get a chance to challenge my high students to go beyond.
