Most of the Chinese energy is from plants that burn coal. Smoke that has toxic chemicals in it such as Mercury pours of out these power plants. High winds carry these chemicals all around the world. This Mercury pollution has been discovered in the US from LA to New England. China burns the most coal out of any county in the world. For China to meet its energy needs it is going to have to produce more hydroelectric power, and they started in 1993 by starting t build the worlds largest dam.
