         <description><![CDATA[<div>Epithelial tissues are sheets of tightly packed cells. They cover the body surfaces and the insides of organs. They provide a barrier between sensitive organs and things that may cause harm, sometimes also providing a surface for the exchange of fluid and air.&nbsp; They consist of two parts.<br><br>Epithelial tissues are classified by the number of cell layers they feature. The classifications are simple, one layer of cells, and stratified, multiple layers. The cell shapes are as follows: columnar, squamous, and cuboidal.&nbsp;<br><br>They can be found in the lining of the esophagus, the lungs, the small intestine, and in the form of a tube in the kidney. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Connective tissue consists of sparse populations of cells scattered throughout the matrix. These cells help make the matrix, which is usually made up of a web of fibers in a liquid, jelly-like substance, or a solid.&nbsp;<br><br>There are six types of connective tissue. There's blood, bone, cartiliage, adipose tissue, fibrous connective tissue, and loose connective tissue.&nbsp;<br><br>Blood is found almost everywhere inside of the body, usually inside of the veins. It is made up of red blood cells, white blood cells, and plasma.&nbsp;<br><br>Bones are also found almost everywhere in the body. They are used for structure. Examples include the skull, femur, and the phalanges.&nbsp;<br><br>Cartilage is a softer structural tissue than bones. It is found in the ears, nose, and also at the end of bones.&nbsp;<br><br>Adipose tissue is widespread around the body. It functions to store fat in large clusters of cells. These are called tissue pads, and they help insulate the body and store energy.&nbsp;<br><br>Fibrous connective tissue is often found in the muscles of the body as tendons and ligaments. Tendons connect to bones and ligaments connect the bones at the site of joints.&nbsp;<br><br>Loose connective tissues are usually made of collagen, which is strong and ropelike. They are often found binding epithelia to other tissues to hold the organs in place, or under the skin. <br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Muscle tissue is the most commonly found tissue in the body. Muscle tissues are made out of cells called muscle fibers, which are long and contain many molecules of contractile proteins. There are 3 main types of muscle tissue.&nbsp;<br><br>Skeletal muscle tissue is connected to the bones by tendons. They are responsible for voluntary movements of the body. They have a striated, or striped, appearance.&nbsp;<br><br>Cardiac muscle tissue forms the part of the heart that contracts. It is striated like skeletal muscle tissue but is under involuntary control. They are branched and interconnecting, and work rapidly to make the heart beat and pump blood around the body.&nbsp;<br><br>Smooth muscle tissue is not striated. It is found in the walls of the digestive tract, arteries, and most other internal organs. They are responsible for involuntary activities, like food movement through the intestinal tract. They contract slower than, but can maintain contractions longer than, skeletal muscle. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Nervous tissue is responsible for sensory processes and the transmission of impulses. It is found in the spinal cord, brain, and nerves that transmit signals throughout the body.&nbsp; &nbsp;<br><br>The unit of structure and function is the neuron. They are designed to conduct nerve signals. They are made up of a body and slender branches. The upper branches are called dendrites, and they connect the impulses between other neurons. The lower branches are called axons,  and they transmit impulses to the dendrites of other neurons. These can also be received by effector cells, like muscle cells, that can respond in certain ways. </div>]]></description>
