Definition: The act of verifying the identity of an owner of a device or an account to ensure security and privacy to access the system
Characteristic:

-method to recognize user (bio metrics, QR code, password)

Examples:
-when registering for new account, system will provide captcha
-when doing transaction, you cannot refresh the page

Non-example:
-system that automatically saves password
-WiFi password already saved into device (auto connect)
-Invalid password

  • TOR browser - jumps your signal from country to country
  • Masking - mask the Internet address to another address so people wouldn't know where you are
