My top values: Meaningful work and curiosity..

Throughout highschool I wasn't interested in school and hated homework. I saw school as a burden, until I took more STEM based classes. I found myself putting in more effort into classes that interested me, like bio and math.

At the pathways event I went to, I learned more about the collaboratory and the UWB travel abroad program. I learned that financial aid and scholarships can be applied to help fund the trip.

I really like stem related fields especially science.

I think I need more experience with communicating in a professional setting. I tend to get nervous during interviews and say things I don't mean to or avoid saying things that could help me. But as I get more comfortable in a professional setting I know I will get used to it.

I loved the Happiness 2.0 podcast, I think Anthony Burrow is spot on. In my path to finding my sense of purpose, I will simply do what I feel is right. Meeting other people standards is not something I want to conform to. I feel that a sense of purpose is easily achieved with time, as long as you continue to do what you love.

I looked into blueprint reading. I learned a lot about the mechanics behind HVAC and pipping systems. I also learned several symbols that describe, what type of pipe or duct to install and how you would install them.

During the several conversations in the Alumni panel, one thing stood out to me. I came to the assumption that experience in your field seems to matter more than the degree you got. Many degrees (such as physics) have a very broad spectrum of career paths one may go into. It seems like, what differentiates these paths is determined by experience in a field.
