I think Augustus could be guilty of the crime because the way he blames the senate feels as if he didn't want the blame on himself. Even though he states that he was forced to become emperor, what heir of the ancient times wouldn't want to be emperor at the earliest age? His testimony shows that he really wanted to be emperor. He probably wasn't the main killer otherwise he wouldn't have a chance at being emperor, but the text gives us many evidence that Augustus may be part of the plan somehow.

He also stated that the Senate had been weakened because of this attack on Julius Caesar, he also stated that the Senate felt jealous.

I think Augustus could be guilty of the crime. This is due to the fact that he has been seen to excessively push blame of Caesar's death onto the Senate - to a suspicious degree. This is evidenced through Augustus' testimony after Julius' death, where he pushes the blame of Julius' death onto the Senate multiple times, as mentioned above. In addition, it is stated that Augustus was "forced" to seize power. Augustus' force shows his willingness for power - a motive that supports the crime. This evidence shows why I believe that Augustus was guilty of this crime.

I think that Augustus could be involved in the murder of Julius Caesar. This is because he most likely wanted the power, money, and fame for himself. If he killed Julius Caesar, then he would get to rule Rome. In Source 1, Augustus says that he was forced to take power. However, no one probably forced him to become emperor. He was likely jealous of Julius Caesar's accomplishment and wanted that high position for himself.

I think that Augustus could be guilty of he crime because he says very skeptical information in his speech. For example, in paragraph 2 it states, "...I was forced to seize power!" This is odd since no one in Rome could've forced anyone to be emperor. Another thing weird about his speech is what he says near the end. It states, "From now on, decisions will be made quickly and with the authority of a true emperor can provide." Now, what does he mean by "true emperor"? Is he trying to say that the ruler before (Julius Caesar) wasn't a true emperor?

I think that Augustus is guilty of the crime. In his testimony, he claimed that he was forced to take power. However, no one forced him to do so, as he claimed power himself. This shows signs of him wanting power over Rome. Additionally, Augustus would've been able to take power because he was the adoptive heir of Julius Caesar, but Caesar was still alive, preventing Augustus from taking over. Because of this, he may have had someone be the visual murderer of his father, and he could've held the plan and lead it through.

Augustus could be guilty of killing Julius Caesar because he could want power. His testimony said "Rome needs an emperor who will protect her which is why I was forced to seize power!" If Augustus truly was forced, he wouldn't say the rest of his speech like he wanted all of the power. He said it in such a way that it seemed like he had no other choice, and he was the only on capable. He also claimed that the Senate killed Julius. Why would he already put the blame on anyone if there wasn't much evidence?

I think that Augustus could be guilty of the crime because Julius died on the Senator Floor, where there are around 300 men, so even if Augustus had been part of the murder, people wouldn't really notice him. In addition, Augustus tries to act as if he does not want to rule and does not want power. This is probably not true and he just wants the citizens to trust him. Thus, I think that Augustus could be guilty of the crime, most likely because he wanted to take Julius' role as the leader of Rome.

So he murdered his uncle and blamed it on the senate saying that they killed him out of jealousy. Or he could've murdered him along with the senate as there are 300 people.

This is because, in his testimony it was very obvious that he wanted power, and Julius was restraining him from that. Instead of letting everyone know it was him, he tried blaming the senate by calling them jealous of his uncle's power. Therefore I think that Augustus is most likely guilty of killing Julius.

I think that Augustus could be guilty of the crime as he blamed the senate with details that might have been false. To add, Augustus mentioned that he was " forced to seize power," which doesn't make sense. He probably wanted to just lead for him self and maybe had jealousy expressed towards his uncle.

I don't think Augustus didn't want the power. He was probably in the plan of killing Julius for the power. In Augustus's biography it states how he pretended not wanting to be emperor in order to become emperor. He also states "form now on decisions will be made by the authority of a true emperor". It looks like Augustus made up the story do that he could have the power all to himself without the Senate. Finally Augustus says, "there will be a Caesar to lead her!". These words made me thinks that Augustus was trying to say this in a way to show that he will be a good emperor. With all these reasons, I think Augustus was guilty for the crime.
