Step into the future

Hang three different pairs of flip flops in the classroom . Each pair represents past, present, future. When wanting to discuss the future students put on the future flip flops and step into the future.

Use images and videos to connect past and present, but not giving any connection to the future. Develop questioning skills. Step into the future.

Whole school level....conduct an earth hour and have a writing competition about the future of our planet and cities. Share on a blog, do a readers theatre.....you name it.

Used as a launch at the end of the story addressing the possible negativity of the future and the empowerment of the future. Focus on alternative futures and picking a specific topic or issue...eg clean water.
