WW2 was one of the most insane armed conflicts in human history... it was a war that took place mostly in Europe, but involved practically every country in the world. In ww2, the lives of around 75 million were lost because of the dispute between the allied forces(U.S, U.K, Canada etc.) and the axis(Germany, Italy and Japan). Führer Adolf Hitler was on a mission to expand the German empire across most of Europe and bring down the allied forces to gain control of as much as he possibly could. The war ran on from 1939-1945 when eventually, the allied forces overcame the axis.
-Charlie

https://www.history.com/topics/world-war-ii/world-war-ii-history

Have really opened the eyes and minds of everyone around us, as a moment that has pulled the final straws of racism. As racism causes millions of people pain and suffering. Right now in this moment in time, is where the death of someone innocent. Has woken us up to see what is still happening at this time and age. Creating an uproar of riots, when we're supposed to stay clear of others in this pandemic. As this should be a wake up call to the world about racial equality in the world. #blacklivesmatter

The Russian Revolution, rather a series of revolutions in 1917, was one of the most influential and significant political events in the 20th century. Centuries of the imperial rule were ended as the Russian empire collapsed with the February revolution. Tsar Nicholas Romanov II stepped down from the throne and was replaced by a provisional government. In the October Revolution, the Bolsheviks, led by Vladimir Lenin, formed an armed uprising against the provisional government. They seized power, and formed the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. The Tsar and his family were executed, and a civil war later erupted as a result of the Bolsheviks taking power. These revolutions also sparked communist movements around the world.

The Grand Duchy of Moscow was a Russian principality in the late Middle Ages, which was centred around Moscow, and the predecessor state of the Tsardom of Russia in the early modern period. This was originally under rule by Alexander Nevsky of Rurik Dynasty. His son Daniel of Rurik Dynasty was appointed to the newly-created Grand Principality of Moscow in 1283 as a vassal state to the Mongol Empire, the latter of which had eclipsed and eventually absorbed its parent duchy of Vladimir-Suzdal by the 1320s. It later annexed the Novgorod Republic in 1478 and conquered the Grand Duchy of Tver in 1485, and ultimately remained ruled by the Mongols for most of its history until 1480. Muscovites, Suzdalians and more inhabitants of the Russian principality were unable to maintain their Slavic, Pagan or Orthodox traditions for the most part under the rule of Tatar Yoke. Ivan III further consolidated the state during his 43-year reign, campaigning against his major remaining rival power, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and by 1503 he had tripled the territory of his realm, adopting the title of tsar and claiming the title of "Ruler of all Rus'". By his marriage to the niece of the last Byzantine emperor, he claimed Muscovy to be the successor state of the Roman Empire, the "Third Rome". It was the immigration of Byzantine people who influenced and strengthened Moscow's identity as the heir of Orthodox Traditions. Ivan's successor Vasili III also enjoyed military success, gaining Smolensk from Lithuania in 1512, pushing Muscovy's borders to the Dnieper River. Vasili's son Ivan IV was an infant at his father's death in 1533. He was crowned in 1547, assuming the title of tsar together with the proclamation of Tsardom of Russia.
- Marcus

In May 2020, George Floyd was basically murdered by a white police officer captured on video. This sparked outrage over the world over race and the movement "Black Lives Matter". A few weeks prior, the same thing happened with another black man named Ahmaud Arbery who was just jogging and was killed by 2 white supremacists who thought he was escaping prison and shot him. Thousands of people are protesting the deaths and mistreatment of POC (particulary black people) Because of this, many riots in the US are happening and should wake people up to the truth that racism is still happening and it is still very bad in 2020. As quoted from Kareem Abdul Jabbar about defending protests, he said "
"Racism in America is like dust in the air. It seems invisible - even if you're choking on it - until you let the sun in. Then you see it's everywhere."

The Germans, often helped by Fascists, committed several atrocities against Italian civilians and troops. In addition, a large Italian resistance movement started a guerrilla war against the German and Italian fascist forces. The anti-fascist victory led to the execution of Mussolini, the liberation of the country, and the birth of the Italian Republic.
Source: Wikipedia
Ibrahim Syed

Currently, tons of riots and protests are going on about George Floyd's murder, along with many other murders committed by police officers and their inappropriate use of firearms, and the victims of this misuse? Members of the same community. The number of racist white people in the law system (mostly in the USA) astounds me. A white person can be charged with little to nothing for murder of a black person, and yet the same can't be said when the tables are turned? (There are tons more that can be said, refer to another post about George Floyd and the protests.) During the Covid-19 pandemic, many members of the Asian community have been beaten and ridiculed for what, their race? It has been nowhere as bad as the murders of George Floyd and others, but still a terrible injustice.

I've just stumbled upon a post about how a man "tripped and fell" on the news. Absolutely false. A group of policemen went through a protesting crowd, and the man was pushed back. He landed straight on his back and he bled from the head. NOBODY- out of the entire group- tried to help the man. Instead of being a decent human being, they let the man bleed on the ground, and the man was still and frozen. They completely ignored the man and apprehended another protester. Awful. The man was a white, somewhat old man. The news won't highlight this, the news won't explain it properly. It was recorded, there is clear footage. If our police isn't going to do their job properly, who's going to protect us from them?

Another small branch I have YET to talk about- the news covering all the wrong things. How- why did the media cover the man's story in all the wrong words? How did he trip if it is caught CLEARLY on tape that a police worker shoved him back and onto the hard cement? Why is the media only covering the violent protests and not the quiet, peaceful ones? The ones where they take a knee on the ground in silence and peace, the ones where they just want to get their point across without the use of weapons or firearms? We are peaceful, we are quiet, why do we have to be tear-gassed? Is it so wrong to protest for what is clearly right?

Influencers on the media. A set of videos and photos with the same person at a protest are going viral. A man trying to tick off policemen just for a few photos. People are falling head-over-heels for this guy without even knowing what he's doing. Many other influencers are just stopping by a protest, snapping a few pictures to post online for the clout- and just leaving. Disgusting. This is not a chance to get famous on the internet. This is not a joke.

If you want to help donate, but have no way of doing so, watch this video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bCgLa25fDHM
A way to donate by ad revenue. These protests were meant to be peaceful but now have went down into history for being very violent due to the officers responding with tear gas and pepper spraying. As we all know George Floyd recently died due to white cops pressing a knee on his kneck after repeatedly hearing him yell "I can't breath". Its so sad to see this happening in this day and age. George Floyd was criminalized for apparently forging a cheque, yet he was killed. The sad truth is, that if it was a white man, the cops wouldn't have been so aggressive, and the man would still be ALIVE. People of all colour who are sick and tired of the mistreatment and want to show their support are now taking a stand and marching out on the streets all across America, getting justice for George Floyd and many other innocent black people whose lives were taken away from them.

Shouldn't the cops be the one protecting us? Not killing people who are only SUSPECTS and treating poc unequally? You would think that racial matters would be solved by now, but look at recent events. This is not okay, and people are now fighting for justice on the streets. BLACK LIVES MATTER.
All that the black community wants is to be able to go outside and not be afraid, afraid that they're lives could be taken away at any second (this problem is mainly present in the United States, though). Colour is not something that should be dividing the human population, it shouldn't be something that sets us apart from each other.

These civil wars took place between 1642-1651. The main conflict that happened was between Charles 1 and parliament over an Irish government. The first time this war broke out was settled with Oliver Cromwell's victory for parliamentary forces. This battle was called the battle of Naseby. The second phase of this war ended with Charles' defeat at the battle of Preston and his execution that took place in 1649. His son formed an army of English and Scottish royalists. This then prompted Crowell to invade Scotland in 1650. He and his army were so powerful that they defeated all the remaining royalist forces, and ended the "wars of the three kingdoms. Charles ll eventually ascended to the throne in 1660.
This war also involved two other kingdoms. There was a big struggle between Charles l and his Westminster parliament over who should control the army. Having controlled all of England, the parliament turned to the conquest of Ireland and Scotland.

The English conflict left 34,000 Parliamentarians and 50,000 Royalists dead, while at least 100,000 men and women died from war-related diseases brought from the travel of many people. This brought the total death toll to almost 300,000 people. These civil wars took many lives and affected many countries. This however was the last English civil war fought on English soil. However, not on Irish and Scottish territory.

World War 1 was a violent war that included millions of lives to be lost with dozens of chemicals used to kill. This conflict has composed of many countries including Germany, Russia, Bulgaria, France, Etc. This ruthless war has lasted for bout 4 years from 1914 to 1918. This endless series of battles resulted in over 70 million troops to fight the battleground with thousands of tanks and airplanes armed with bombs and toxic gas. There was little mercy within the war and didn't really benefit anyone due to the amount of troops lost..This had also included plenty of diseases to strike each country such as the flu that had occurred later on. World War 1 had just lead to another war afterward with immense hatred and ruthless genocide. (World war 2).

The Crusades were a series of Religious wars initiated, supported, and sometimes directed by the Latin Church in the Medieval Period. The term refers especially to the Eastern Mediterranean campaigns in the period between 1096 and 1271 that had the objective of recovering the Holy Land from Islamic Rule. The term has also been applied to other church-sanctioned campaigns fought to combat paganism and heresy, to resolve conflict among rival Roman Catholic groups, or to gain political and territorial advantage. The difference between these campaigns and other Christian religious conflicts was that they were considered a penitential exercise that brought forgiveness of sins declared by the church. Historians contest the definition of the term "crusade". Some restrict it to only armed pilgrimages to Jerusalem; others include all Catholic military campaigns with a promise of spiritual benefit; all Catholic holy wars; or those with a characteristic of religious fervor.
Source: Wikipedia
-Sam

But it took a turn because police started pepper spraying protesters and tear gassing them. Fake protesters started looting shops and destroying property. This brings back all the racist things that have happened in the past. Everyone says that we grew from our mistakes and know whats good and bad but clearly we don't. Police officers who are in charge of keeping us safe are killing people for no reason, just because of their skin tone. But seriously, its 2020, are people still lacking common sense. Why does it matter if your white, black, brown or any other skin color, the only thing that should matter is that your a human being and you have rights, no one can say or do anything bad to you because you are a living person and your life matters.

From this act of racism, it caused the BLM movement.
In my opinion, the fact there still is inequality between the types of races is absolutely disgusting. We should be judging a person based off their actions and personalities as that tells us what a person is like on the inside rather than basing our judgments by appearance.

Inocent poc are being killed and harassed because they are simply different then the racist white males. Another problem going on right now is pridefall. June is pride month where lgbtq+ can celebrate how far we've come, but on social media all the homophobics are commenting and attacking us because they are different. The general start of the war was in 1947, this war was called the cold war as the two superpowers of the world never engaged in a large scale battle as both were afraid of what could happen. Each side had only supported their allies in proxy wars around the world. This war began as other countries began to see that the Soviet-backed North Korean army had invaded the their pro-western neighbor. This began to strike fear for American officials as they thought that it was the first step in a communist campaign of taking over the world.

However, the expeditionary English army, well disciplined and successfully using their longbows to stop cavalry charges, proved repeatedly victorious over much larger French forces: significant victories occurred by sea at Sluys (1340), and by land at Crecy (1346) and Poitiers (1356). In 1360, King John of France, in order to save his title, was forced to accept the Treaty of Calais, which granted complete independence to the duchy of Guyenne, now considerably enlarged to include almost a third of France. However, his son Charles V, with the help of his commander in chief Bertrand du Guesclin, by 1380 had succeeded in reconquering almost all the ceded territory, notably by a series of sieges.

The end of the conflict was never marked by a peace treaty but died out because the English realized that the French troops were too strong to be directly comforted

that l N-1968-mid 1998
It was a huge violent unrest in British owned Northern Ireland, where after the Irish got independence in 1937, the majority protestant Northern Ireland still under British Command and a Majority Catholic Republic Of Ireland tensions would rise over the course of a few decades but the straw that broke the camels back. Was a protestant parade was set to be had in a Catholic area in Northern Ireland witch lead to the Battle Of the bog side which was a massive riot were Catholics, Protestants and police were all fighting each other, then lead to a 3 day period were British Troops would come save the Police. But the news spread everywhere so Irish nationalist started rioting, and the British loyalist did the same, (lol). Then Violence broke out everywhere in Northern Ireland, and the IRA and Loyalist got into a gunfight, that lead to a IRA victory. (Battle Of ST.Matthews) and furthered the violence. Then British paratroopers opened fired on Irish Nationalist for throwing rocks at them, killing 14. (Bloody Sunday) Witch lead into a huge number of people joining the IRA against the British, that lead to the IRA detonating 25 car bombs across Northern Ireland and the IRA importing advanced AR-18 rifles from Libya.

Then the IRA did the unthinkable and set of a car bomb in LONDON and killing 3 and injuring hundreds, then Loyalist British did a car bombing in Republic of Ireland witch now any sign of peace was out the window killing 34. Then the Irish loyalist struck back with car bombings in the United kingdom in Gil ford and Birmingham killing 5 and injuring 21. The IRA would then go all out and ambush a British Army convoy killing 18 British soldiers, the IRA continued by bombing a hotel in attempts to kill the British Prime Minister Margret Thatcher. And they continued some more attacking Army and Police Barracks demoralizing them. After all that chaos in 1998 the good Friday agreement witch ended most of the disputes in Ireland then it lead to the IRA disbanding. The End

The Football War (the soccer war, or the Hundred Hours' War,) was a brief war fought between El Salvador and Honduras in 1969. Existing tensions between the two countries coincided with rioting during a 1970 FIFA World Cup qualifier. The war began on 14 July 1969, when the Salvadoran military launched an attack against Honduras. The Organization of American States (OAS) negotiated a cease-fire on the night of 18 July (hence "100 Hour War"), which took full effect on 20 July. Salvadoran troops were withdrawn in early August.
- Malik

The Mongol Invasion and conquests took place in the 13th and 14th century. Historians regard the Mongolian devastation as one of the deadliest in history, and believe Mongol expeditions have led to the spread of Bubonic Plague across Eurasia. Starting from the 13th century, Mongols captured 20% of Earth's land. About the Mongolian Army's history, it is said that 1 million Chinese people committed suicide just to avoid being killed by the Mongolians. This bloodthirsty invasion had a death toll of 60 to 70 million.

During World War 2, A destroyer fleet, with the USS O’bannon, was returning to resupply And refuel after shelling Japanese installations at Solomon Islands. They saw something small popped up on the radar, and thought it was a corvette or submarine. As they got closer, they saw a submarine full of Japanese sailors napping on deck, oblivious to the presences of US sailors. The captain wanted to ram the ship, but at the last moment, he changed ideas as he thought the submarine was full of sea mines. He order to turn the ship so they were running parallel to each other. The Japanese were now fully aware of An American ship, and prepared their 3 inch guns in a panic. The US sailors couldn’t use their own deck guns as they were too close. They began throwing whatever they could at the submarine. They had nothing but a few barrels full of potatoes and began hurling it at the Japanese. They didn't know that potatoes were in fact potatoes, but thought as grenades in disguise and began to throw them back, causing them to never man their guns. USS O’bannon get far enough to lower their guns to fire and the submarine. The Japanese quickly enter their sub and began lowering to the sea, but got a hit on their conning tower. To ensure the sinking of that sub. They shot death charges at them. Later after the war, the Japanese confirmed that they lost contact with the sub after they hit the conning tower. The news blew up on this topic because mostly during the war, it was all depressing of defeats or victories with lots of causalities.

-Kyle

World War I was a global war that lasted four years, three months and two weeks. Militarism and imperialism are known to be two of the factors that caused this war to extend across the world. When the Serbian government was convinced that Austria-Hungary was beginning to prepare for war, they began to mobilize and appealed to Russia for assistance in the war. In only a week, Russia, Great Britain, France, Serbia and Belgium had lined up against Germany and Austria-Hungary. World War I then began.
-Parmida

Although this crusade was one of many its one of the most memorable in my eyes. The fact that children stepped up to fight for the cause of their fathers and died for the cause of belief is insane. Even though it was a failed attempt its still a powerful moment in history.

All of this was filmed and the video sparked massive outraged all over the United States and the rest of the world. The killing of George Floyd was the last straw for people, people have had enough of white police officers killing innocent black men and women. Protests started in Minnesota, so that people could have their voices heard. Throughout the next week protests started all over the United States, some turned into riots which involved burning objects and building, and looting of stores, the rioting led to governors making curfews to prevent more rioting. For the last couple weeks peaceful protests have happened all over the United States and have even moved into other countries including Canada. While most of these are peaceful protests, police officers have been fighting back the protestors with tear gas and rubber bullets, sparking even more outrage from citizens, governors, other police officers, and people from other countries.

This topic is about aces/asexuals/etc. And how there have been targeted crimes against them, which have lead to protests in the past. For example, there have been protests in NYC in the past. Mostly about how their rights aren't being met for some dumb reason. Mainly just to spread awareness about their sexuality and how violence has been happening within their community. The Trevor Project is an organization that helps/guides people to know or learn more about asexuality. I can't explain everything here so go to their website.
Muslim Genocides and Wars- Recent

Middle Eastern countries & Muslim countries and populations have been constantly targeted for more than several decades with getting little to no coverage and attention from European and other Western countries. Countries like the U.S. (believe it or not) actually condone and encourage these acts of terrorism and bombing in these countries. This is the reason that these countries have become third-world countries and have forced their happy citizens to flee their home-land and seek refuge in countries (Canada, U.S., etc.) where they are constantly being told to go back where they came from and called names like "ISIS, terrorists, sex slaves, bombers" which are the exact same things that they fled from. Many of the countries in severe crisis right now are:

1) Yemen- The country has been facing the biggest humanitarian crisis in the world in 100 years since 2015 due to the ongoing war with Saudi Arabia. 24 million people are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance, with an estimated 85,000 children dead from famine. Yemen is on the verge of going extinct as a country. Due to the novel Covid-19 situations have worsened and because of the negative way the media depicts the Middle East a 'terrorist packed, ISIS supporting extremist' area. The world has gone absolutely silent for the past 5 years and have failed to support and even acknowledge their cries for help through an epidemic (cholera), pandemic (covid-19), famine, and war all at the same time. 3,65 million Yemeni people have had to leave their homes.
***Under the Obama administration $1.15 billion in weaponry was given to Saudi Arabia + the $100 million in arms sales that was previously given to Saudi to continue their methodical and inhumane entry into Yemen*** (this is just a tiny fraction of how the U.S./ Americas have helped invade poor countries and continue destruction and terrorism against them.

2) Uighur Concentration Camps- Millions of Muslims and other ethnic minorities are being held in concentration camps from 2017 (with minimal media coverage),,,Yes...CONCENTRATION CAMPS (this is ethnic cleansing and many people are desensitized to these inhumane acts and don't care because it doesn't affect them directly) In these disgusting camps they are forced to denounce themselves as Muslims, used as lab rats for human experiments, being forced to eat pork and drink alcohol, being blamed for viruses and other diseases, and the women are raped if they refuse to marry a Chinese Han man. *This is a modern day genocide!* Islam is seen as a contagious disease in China. Genocides like this have taken place before too and yet this one doesn't matter?

3) Slave Trade and Sex trafficking in Libya- *A SLAVE TRADE IN 2020* Libya is a coastal, Northern African country which has been selling Black Africans into slavery for as little as $400. The slaves are transferred across the very dangerous Mediterranean sea to Europe. This has been happening for four years in a row with no media coverage! 3,000 refugees have died while attempting the journey. Women are being raped, organs are being harvested, people are being killed, and women are going missing.

Many others are: (search them up)
4) Rohingya/ Burma Crisis
5) Palestinian Nakba and annexation
6) Kashmir Oppression under India
7) Indian Anti-Muslim acts

8) Syrian Civil War

(the best source of efficient and true news are local NEWSPAPERS and SOME websites- please don't use fox news*)

This is 1000x worse than what most Americans consider terrorism but of course it is not claimed terrorism because it is being done by Americans towards Muslims. Muslims have been struggling under this oppression by the Western world for decades and centuries and are still being labelled "Terrorists". Muslim and Middle Eastern countries have gained no attention other than being targeted whereas the actual terrorists are being depicted as victims. This is nothing more than hypocrisy and a hate-crime. Millions of people who follow the Islamic religion, or have ethnic backgrounds from the Middle East have been kicked out of their homes, tortured, oppressed, faced systemic and institutionalized racism, along with Islamophobic acts which is equivalent to anti-Semitic acts.
