- Apprenticed at the age of 13 to the local newspaper. 
- Garrison's articles had a lot of anti-government ideas, which uneased a lot of people.
- Garrison lost his job because of this.
- Garrison got a job at another newspaper company and condemned a slave owner for his treatment of slaves.
- Garrison was sued and thrown in jail.
- After being released from Jail, Garrison began taking an interest of the slave trade and Slavery in the United States.
- Garrison became Radical and was targeted by many mobs for his ideas.
- Founded an antislavery organization.
- Garrison did not like the constitution since it agreed with certain aspects regarding slavery.
