I stayed on the bunny slope for a while where my boyfriend was trying to teach me but let me just say... he tried his best. I have always enjoyed being outdoors and learning about the urban life here in Los Angeles. I currently have two dogs the Peanuts crew, Snoopy and Charlie I enjoy going on adventures with the both of them around the Los Angeles area. I currently work at a veterinary clinic as a technician and I have been able to explore different areas that clients tell me about that they take their kiddos to. In high school I went to a school near the LA Zoo, Zoo Magnet during my time at Zoo Magnet I did two research expeditions with Earthwatch. I did research in Rhode Island in the Salt Marshes to better understand the sea levels and the impact it is having. The other research I did was study bees and other pollinators in the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. The research I did really opened my eyes to how everything has an impact on the environment both taught me different areas that scientist can study in the environment. This the first ESRM class I will be taking at CI and excited to learn and grow my knowledge about Environmental Science. One of which is my 3 year old Rottweiler/great dane mix named OSA, who I take on all my outdoor adventures of hikes, camping trips, jogs and even to work somtimes. I currently work at petsmart and it has been a joy to work there over the years. I also am a volunteer at the California wildlife center in Malibu which has been a wonderful experience. I get to work with all different types of native wildlife species and I have been getting great hands on work. I hope to work in some sort of research or conservation work in the future so I want to get more experience and knowledge in the field. This the first ESRM class and honestly i wish i took more in my time here at CI but I am at the very least grateful I get to take this class this semester. Looking forward to a great semester.

So, I'm a twenty seven year old redhead. A Capricorn for the astrololovers. An INFJ for the mybriggslovers. Transfer student, and first semester for me at CSUCI. It's been very exciting! I'm in the process of moving down to Camarillo (or a surrounding city) I've lived in Modesto, CA for about twenty years now. I'm Assyrian, which is a type of middle eastern christian (if you aren't familiar). Some of my hobbies include playing tennis, videogames- love nintendo, songwriting/singing, painting, and hanging out with close family and friends. The picture I chose was me from a few years ago at my uncle and aunt's house in the backyard. They used to have a boat and I've always loved it and rode on it in the ocean when I was a wee child. It reminds me of the simple times before adulthood took over! Now there's bills, exams, jobs, cleaning, cooking, oh you name it! Anyways, a topic in Environmental Science that interests me, and probably many others is climate change. This has been a pressing issue in our modern world as it's getting way colder or hotter than normal depending on the region. This might sound like a generic interest but in order to make a difference and reverse the damaging effects, education is key! If we want to stop or at least reduce floodings, wildfires, and natural disasters, then knowing the origins, catalysts, triggers, and solutions is the most important. Our future (or present) children should be promised similar comfortability in our world and to also see the same animals that we do, still alive and not extinct because of avoidable reasons. Anyways, could go on and on, but I'm excited to learn more about not only this class but all of you students and our awesome professor. It was so fun reading each of your stories and introductions.
