My students will be focusing on one platform so if there are students that are stronger they can help others that may not be. Also, I choose this platform because my students are already familiar with the Google platform so they won't have to learn a new interface. I plan to teach the whole class the logistics of Google Meet and allow them to actually host and be a part of mock interviews before they have their final assessment with me. I would also have a step-by-step printed and posted to the class website in case students need reminders on how to utilize the platform. 

    During the assessment, I anticipate a few technical issues like connectivity, microphone, and video failure. To address these issues I would make sure I have students check these things out before it's time for the assessment. I would have them run a test on the day of the assessment in the area they will be completing the assessment. This will help make sure things are working properly. I will also make sure I have backup Chromebooks/chargers for students to use in case they forgot theirs or something is wrong with theirs.  

    Ultimately, I think the assessment will go well and will be fun for my students to complete!

While explaining the lesson and assessment, I anticipate that I'll need to monitor the behavior of my students. I anticipate some classroom management issues while students are completing gather oral communication assessment. Lastly, I foresee management issues with technology when students are trying to complete their assessments. 

    To monitor the behavior in the classroom, I will be having students follow along with me on their screen as I will be on mine. I will use a wireless mouse so I can control my computer and walk the floor of the classroom. 

    While completing the oral communication assessment; I will have other students practice mock interviews with each other on their own Chromebooks. This will allow me to complete my interview without it being noisy. I would have also established my expectations for the entire class beforehand to make sure students are aware of how their behavior should be while the assessments are taking place. 

    While using technology there could be issues with students if their Chromebooks stop working during the assessment. I will have an area for loaner Chromebooks and chargers to use if this may happen. Students will be aware of the procedures beforehand on what to do if this happens to them. 

    To ensure I am addressing the various intelligence needs (Gardner, 2011) of my students, I will provide variety in my oral communication assessment questions. No one student will have the same questions per grade level. I will make sure there is enough variety and wording of the questions to challenge and differentiate between students. 

    While teaching I will manage misbehavior using the direction in the Danielson Framework for Effective Teaching (Danielson, 2014).   • I could improve the assessment for future classes by allowing for different technology mediums. Zoom is very popular for interviews now and allowing them to use that platform or another platform may help with the management. 
  • Allowing the assessment to be student-led could also be an improvement for future classes. Since I differentiate with the questions having students be the interviewers could warrant more engagement.
