I started off with an owl for my idea, however I cannot have an owl sit in front of me in real life. I decided to draw the pinecones that are in the class. I was overwhelmed at the start, but it turned out pretty neat. The reason I think that this project was whack was because I had sketched the pinecones with a continuous line in pencil. Sadly you cannot tell once I colored it with the colored pencil. I just decided to start drawing a photo. Which turned out fine until I had to put in a figure. I think I nailed the perception aspect. However this did not work out correctly. I chose to not use Putin, and solely draw Trump. Compositionally, this is not a wise decision. However I believe I saved it with the wire that goes from the button he presses to the explosion in the background. The wire becomes a way for me to lead the viewer throughout the piece. One thing that I achieved was the creation of depth in the image. This is mainly because of the thick graphite dust thing that you had given to me. It helped me shade around the explosion to to make Trump and his button come farther forward. In terms of contrast, the piece is quite bland, except for the button. It remains monotone which is a flaw in my opinion. Because no figure is shaded well it makes the piece with no “oomf”.
