AnswerGarden is a free tool you can use to gain feedback from students. It can be used in both educational and professional settings. I have used this with students as young as 3rd grade. The tool is simple to use, to get started building an AnswerGarden you start by asking a question. Submit the question, then embed the link or share your AnswerGarden code with students. Once students are connected they can respond to the question. Answers are anonymous but can be seen in the "garden" immediately. The more students provide the same answer the larger that answer grows in the garden. You can use the resource in the following ways:

1. Check in with students.
2. Brainstorm ideas
3. Make predictions
4. Character Traits
5. Poll students

The best questions are those that require a short response. Students can respond as many times as their teacher allows.

Epic! is an online library that is free for educators. It is home to over 40,000 eBooks and videos students can independently explore. Epic is available on iPads, iPhones and Android devices, and on any computer, including Chromebooks. Students can read or listen to books at school or at home. Books can be filtered by age, reading level, fiction/non-fiction, language, or quiz. Teachers are able to create a collection and assign the collection to students. Collections can also be shared with fellow teachers.

Epic! collects data by tracking the number of books finished, minutes read, and videos watched. Teachers can monitor student progress by viewing which books or collections a student has completed reading.
