Through his young days, to his retirment from the NBA, he faced many hardships, and social injustices. His experiences go to show that, no matter how many obstacles you face in life, as long as you have a strong mindset, you will find a way through. </div>]]></description>

His wakeup call came when in 3rd grade, a girl snapped a photo with a polaroid camera, and he looked at the picture and realised that he was different among the other students. Instead of being light in the picture, he was dark compared to the other. </div>]]></description>

He would just point to a book, to distract karrem from bothering him, and any questions that were asked, he would shrug them off. His mom was different. She would teach him how to save money, and they woudl watch movies together. Kareem ended up loving westerns a lot. </div>]]></description>

This cause him to be more introverted, and feel more tucked away from other people. The teachers loved him because he was a good smart student, but the other kids hated him because of that. He taught him many drills, and was in influental part of his development in basketball. He was a decent player by 7th grade, and he was inspired and motivated to continue working hard.          <description><![CDATA[<div>Kareem had a rough time in highschool, he would be teased sometimes for his height and racism continued throughout 1961. The Ku Klux Klan Firembombed a bus that the Freedom riders were on. the event impacted kareem, and it made him question why society was like this. He began to want to have an impact and somehow change the world. At school, he would use facts and evidence to try to change the mind of other people. But unfortunatley he learned that it would not work. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Coach Donahue Impacted Kareem, because of the way he coached. His strict coaching taught him valuable lessons, and it pushed him to try harder. Though he would sometimes question the things he would do. Kareem was very skinny, and the coach would often tease him of that. Due to all the injustice going on, Kareem would be scared now to be in places. He did not feel comfortable in his own skin. </div>]]></description>
