The first article I read was paragraph writing my biggest takeaway from thataway from that was the concept of breaking down the focused idea in the topic sentence in how your focus idea needs to elaborate more in the topic sentence needs to summarize a point. I tend to overwrite and so seeing the general plan of what this needs to be is helpful for me.

The next article I read was good writing habits to have My biggest Takeaway was the key to having a strategy and not to let procrastination suffocate you in missing your deadlines and always having a strategy and a plan to get from point A to point B

The first article I read is Overcoming Writing Anxiety and writer's Block. When a writing task assigned, I can't stop thinking that, "what I can write? Oh my gold, I have nothing to say about this topic." From the article, there is a tip which I think it would help me, which is creating smaller tasks and short-term goals. Every small win activates would inspire me and keep me motivated to go.

The second article is Writing Conclusions. A tip I would like to share is leaving readers with something to think about. An essay with good introduction and detail supporting paragraphs would be plus if an impressive conclusion added. When readers are reflecting on or discussing the question you raise, your essay becomes remarkable.

Make sure you have enough time to do your work. Don't leave it last minute. Do it days ahead and take as many breaks as you need. Even if you feel like it's not your best work turn it in to get feedback about it to see how to improve.

When you write your intro it needs to stand out from the rest of your essay. You need to engage the reader with something interesting that will keep them reading. It can be something shocking, an interesting question later answered in the essay. The first impression is everything in life, when readers see that interesting question it will have them hooked through the entire essay./

Having an accountability partner is one of the tips I saw and that has actually been helping me deal with procrastination also I saw and I will try to start using setting a time limit or timer for when to get distracted with social media or things like that.

First Drafts and Good Writing Habits

The first article I read covered the importance of first drafts when beginning to wrote something. This article explains how first drafts can act as a dump for all of your thoughts and feelings on the topic, and moving forward is gathering, organizing and maybe discarding everything you wanted to or thought about saying. I found this article very helpful in not feeling too bad if your first draft seems messy or all over the place. It's supposed to be that way.

The second article I read covered good writing habits for people to have. The common thread I found throughout this article was to not be scared of messing up. It covers the importance of revising your work, the importance of messing up, and the willingness one needs to have to learn. I think this article was great in explaining the importance of failure and how no student or person should be scared of messing up, but excited to learn how to be better.

After my reading, I was impressed with:

1) introductions have two jobs: catch readers’ attention and introduce the focus and purpose of your writing. Share an interesting, shocking, or little known fact or statistic about your topic. Some methods and examples for introducing a topic and getting your reader’s attention are very important.

2)Conclusions also have two jobs: Leave readers with something to think about. Clarify why your topic matters to them and the larger community (whether that be the class, their neighborhood or the whole wide world). Some methods and examples for concluding an essay and giving your readers a sense of closure or an idea of what you would like them to think about or do next are also very important for your conclusion, too.

3)When you begin a new idea or point, when your readers need a pause, when you are ending your introduction or starting your conclusion, or to contrast information or ideas, then you know you should start a new paragraph.

1. The importance of the first draft in the explanation is to catch the reader's attention and have the reader focus. This introduction is the first thing the reader will read so it's important to leave an impact.

2. The conclusions are just as important as the first one, it has to tie everything together. It's the last impression the reader gets as they close out the essay.

Using short freewriting sessions, setting timers to limit distractions, working with an accountability partner, and breaking assignments into smaller, manageable chunks will help me stay focused and make steady progress on my writing.

Revising my work multiple times, focusing on big-picture improvements before proofreading, taking creative risks, avoiding multitasking, and being patient with my writing process will help me produce stronger and more confident work.

After reading this article, I learned that the introduction should accomplish more than a basic statement of the essay's purpose. So my advice is that the introduction should immediately capture attention through unexpected facts or brief narratives by a shocking question. Starting the introduction with general information at the beginning of an essay just tends to lose readers but if you add a specific detail followed by your thesis statement it just hook the reader more to continue reading.

The first article that I read was Writing a Conclusion. When you write your conclusion it should restate the thesis but also answer the so what question. Another good tip that I read was to avoid using new claims or topics because you didn't talk about them in your essay. The second article that I read was Overcoming Writing Anxiety. A tip that I got from this article was to overcome the anxiety you should just start "writing bad". Don't stress yourself out for perfection in your first draft and to break it down into pieces to help.
