Influences

. As an artist I often find my work to be a mixture of my influences infused with my own unique spin based on my life expierences. Most art is subconscious re-interpertation, and i think artists that realize that, and own their influences rather than trying to deny their impact, are some of the best artists of all.

. My inspirations aren't just formed from parasocial relationships, or individual shows i've seen. My personal life and connections often inspire me greatly. My father inspires me, my theatre teacher in high school inspired me, watching my friends land roles they wanted and working hard to perform them always inspired me. Even a bad expierence in my english class inspired my senior year SDOAP script.

. My personal experience playing a role in OAP "She Kills Monsters" by Qui Nguyen was a major inspiration both to me as an actor and a writer.

. One of my biggest dreams in the world of arts is to have original plays of mine performed. Nothing huge or world famous, though i can dream. There have been plenty of examples of plays that started from colleges, and i aspire to write shows like that.

. My Goal as an actor would be to follow a strong direction in musical theatre, potentially even try and move over to film someday in the future if everything goes well in theatre.

. Plenty of big name actors don't even go to college for acting

Values and Collaboration

. I think collaboration (when done right) makes us all better artists. The mere presence of an extra voice in the process can lead to an end product better than what both parties could have crafted before. And i think a good artists is willing to make that accommodation for the sake of a better outcome

. Co-writing a One Act play in high school helped me realize the value of collaboration in art via seeing it for myself. i understand that some projects are simply done alone, but i'd suggest any artist at least try to collaborate, even if that's just with a scene partner.

. Even the greats such as "William Shakespeare" have co-written many shows.

. As a theatre student I obviously try and find as many ways as possible to apply my theatre knowledge to life. This manifests itself in auditions for theatre-based student orgs, going out of my way to take other core classes that could become relevant to my work, and me writing my own playscripts.

. Especially on the playwriting side of things, high school gave me many opportunities to apply my work. Over the course of school i had five of my original shows put on for an audience, and one of them i co-wrote. This gave me my first major opportunity to expierence collaboration in the writing side of the theatre world, and that is part of how i know it's what i want to do for a living. I think collaboration makes me a better artist.

.

. My primary drive to pursue a career in theatre arts mainly derives from my overwhelmingly positive past expierence. All throughout high school I acted in shows, sang in musicals and even won awards at UIL OAP. My high school also provided me with plenty of opportunities to write play scripts and have the shows put on. Both of which cultivated in my love for Acting and Playwriting.

. Outside of writing, i've had plenty of opportunities to perform in musicals. I was in choir ever since middle school, and my growing love for singing massively influenced my choice to follow a career involving musical theatre specifically.

. I was in a production of "Carmen" in 2018.
