I think using objects in your life is a good place to start. I supplemented the background settings for my scene.

This will be a teleportation hub between the fantasy world and the real world. Creatures traveling between the two worlds have to pass here, which is why there are different elements in this building. It is also a symbol of my own spiritual world. of Tommy Støckel. His fascination with art history, science 
fiction and illusions are reflected in collages, sculptures and 
installations. Here, constructed futures seen in miniature 
worlds and deserted sci-fi landscapes are represented. With 
a precise mathematical technique Støckel creates collages 
using figures cut out from catalogues and sculptures 
showing different layers in an artificial decay of time.
