Baratunde never was able to perfectly fit in. While to white people, his name was a 100% confirmation that he was black, Nigerian people often told him that he "wasn't that black."

When everyone is putting expectations and rules, on Dolapo, she conforms, tries to fit in, and meet those expectations, but, all it does, is make her miserable. So Dolapo decides that she is going to do what she wants, not let any of them hold her back, she will not conform, she will adapt, and she had never been happier.
