The official name for these types of urban housing is "the frame to flat". The time these building were built was approximate to 1900-1920, it shows the Urban culture and the way they used to live. The frame to flat were built so close together and upwards so they could cut building costs (sharing walls) - for defence. The area these houses were built in was normally around the city area so everyone could get around and walk to where they needed to go.
