Germany Invades Poland

Germany signed a nonaggression pact with the communist Soviet Union, they agreed that they would not have military action against each other for 10 years. On September 1, 1939, Hitler decided to send the germany army into Poland. Two days after the attack, Britain and France decided to declare war against Germany, which made the beginning of World war 2 start.

Nazis target Great Britain

British and German forces fought the Battle of Britain from June to October 1940. This was an aerial bombing raid by Germany that resulted in 17,500 civilians in London alone dying. Ultimately Great Britain was able to hold off Germany.
