Al-Quran contains information regarding every aspects of human life. Al-Quran guides not only muslim, but to all of mankind to show the methods and best lifestyle, rescue from destruction, show the clear ways and avoid any forbidden acts that couse harm to themselves. The  Al-Quran has no lacks.

The content of Al-Quran is vast, as the servants of Allah SWT, we should learn to understand and install this guidance in our lifestyle. We should try our best to make the Al-Quran as our best companion in the living by practicing daily reading of Al-Quran so it could help us in the hereafter.

Allah SAW says, (28:56) "You cannot grant guidance to whom you please. It is Allah Who guides those whom He will."

Generally adab is referred to good manners, courtesy, respect and appropriateness.  It relates closely to one’s image and reflection one’s beautification of the heart,soul and mind.

So, is it important for one to behave in the midst of seeking knowledge? Of course it is! When seeking knowledge, adab in this regard is not just having the right knowledge but also the right practice of that knowledge.

Adab of a person is about achievement of good abilities and qualities of the mind and soul, so that individual can distinguish between: good and bad; right and wrong; and real and false.

Muslims are taught that acquiring and possessing knowledge (علم) has a great status in Islam and is highly encouraged by the Qur'an.

We need to have the following traits and behaviour when seeking knowledge

• know one own intentions to seek knowledge and set it straight

• always focus when lectures is on

• involve oneself in discussions

• ask questions (the cure for confusion is to ask)

• show effort when studying (extra reading / notes)

• always respect the one who gives out knowledge

The Prophet Muhammad SAW stated that “My Lord educated (addaba) me, and made my education (ta’dib) most excellent.”

USRAH WEEK 1 

• He asked the Prophet about Islam so that the companions who were listening could gain that knowledge.

2. “Woe to a servant who still has both or one parent, but their presence does not lead him to enter paradise.”

3. “Woe to a servant who, when your name (Prophet Muhammad SAW) is mentioned before him, does not send blessings upon you.”

• The shepherds of sheep, the barefooted, hungry people, and the poor compete to build tall buildings.

2. “Showing love to Allah SWT - articulating it in prayer through intention.”

3. “Showing patience towards Allah SWT - being patient in enduring hunger and thirst while performing the fast.”

4. “Demonstrating willingness to give wealth for the sake of Allah SWT.”

5. “Demonstrating servitude to Allah SWT.”

USRAH WEEK 5

“And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me. I do not want from them any provision, nor do I want them to feed Me. Indeed, it is Allah who is the [continual] Provider, the firm possessor of strength.”

These verses highlight:

1. Purpose of Creation: Allah created humans and jinn solely to worship Him (ibadah).

2. Allah’s Independence: Allah, the Creator, is not in need of provision or sustenance from His creations.

3. Allah’s Generosity: Allah continuously provides for all creations and sustains them through His infinite power.

1. Hikmah (Wisdom): Positive values that guide us to understand life’s purpose.

2. Ibadah (Worship): Good deeds performed sincerely for Allah, covering all aspects of life.

How to Be a Good Insan (Person)

1. Niyyah (Intention): Actions are judged by intention; sincerity (ikhlas) is key.

2. Clarity and Focus: Set clear goals and work hard to achieve them for Allah’s pleasure.

3. Istiqamah (Consistency): Perform good deeds regularly; small, consistent actions are beloved to Allah.

4. Amal (Good Deeds): Follow the Qur’an and Sunnah, and make every action an act of worship.

5. Ihsan (Excellence): Worship Allah with the awareness that He sees you, striving for perfection.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

“Whoever pursues a path of knowledge, Allah makes the path to Paradise easy for them.”

Seek knowledge sincerely, act upon it, and let it guide your deeds.

USRAH WEEK 1

Prayer:

• Prayers should be performed with sincerity and full concentration (khushu’).

• They are a way to strengthen one’s reliance on Allah.

Fasting:

• Enhances physical health by improving heart function and regulating body weight.

• Gives the digestive system a much-needed rest.

• Teaches time management and self-control.

• Avoid wastefulness and focus on being grateful to Allah.

• A prophetic teaching emphasizes moderation in eating: one-third for food, one-third for water, and one-third for breathing, helping curb desires and greed.

• Young Muslims are encouraged to marry if capable, or fast to control desires.

Zakat:

• Purifies wealth from envy and greed.

• Increases faith and reliance on Allah.

• Alleviates poverty, allowing the less fortunate to improve their quality of life.

• Promotes social harmony by bridging economic gaps.

Hajj:

• Renews hope and life goals.

• Requires physical and financial sacrifice for Allah’s sake.

• Strengthens the global unity of the Muslim ummah.

• Inspires personal reform and commitment to becoming a better person.

USRAH WEEK 2

These verses describe the qualities of true believers, emphasizing that their hearts tremble with reverence when Allah’s name is mentioned, and their faith increases when they recite the Quran. Among their qualities, the foremost is their focus and humility in prayer (khusyu’), a state of submission and mindfulness that draws them closer to Allah.

• Heart: Deep awareness and awe of Allah.

• Body: Stillness, minimal movements, and focus on the place of sujud.

• Connection: Feeling a direct bond with Allah, making the prayer meaningful and spiritually uplifting.

Surah Taha (108): “All voices will be humbled before the Most Merciful.”

Imam Ibn Qayyim described khusyu’ as the heart standing in humility before its Lord.

Solat is the foundation of a Muslim’s faith, a means to better oneself, and the first deed to be judged on the Day of Judgment. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

“The first deed a servant will be accounted for on the Day of Judgment is their prayer.”

• Ensure cleanliness from major or minor impurities.

• Maintain clean clothes and purify them before praying.

2. Purity of Place:

• The prayer area must be clean and free of impurities.

• Story: When a Bedouin urinated in the mosque, the Prophet instructed the people not to rebuke him. Instead, he ordered the area to be cleaned with water, emphasizing gentleness and cleanliness.

1. Mental and Physical Preparation:

• Perform wudu with care, clean the body, clothes, and prayer area.

• Brush teeth before wudu (using a miswak).

2. Understanding the Prayer:

• Learn and reflect on the meanings of the recitations in solat.

3. Create a Peaceful Environment:

• Pray in a calm, clean, and distraction-free place.

4. Mindful Actions:

• Perform the prayer slowly, avoiding haste, and maintain tuma’ninah (tranquility in each posture).

• Avoid praying when hungry, or when holding back the urge to relieve yourself.

5. Supplication:

• Continuously ask Allah for help in achieving khusyu’.

• Doubtful matters (shubuhat): Distracts the heart from Allah.

• Desires (shahwat): Leads to heedlessness in prayer.

Khusyu’ requires persistent effort, sincere intention, and a constant focus on Allah’s greatness, ensuring solat remains a source of strength and a pathway to His mercy.

• Enhances mindfulness and self-discipline.

• Strengthens the connection with Allah.

• Promotes inner peace and spiritual fulfillment.

• Increases rewards in the Hereafter, ensuring acceptance of prayers.

1. Definition of Fasting

• Fasting is abstaining from anything that invalidates the fast from dawn until sunset with the intention of worship.

2. Patience (Sabr)

• Fasting teaches patience by refraining from actions that break the fast.

• It requires endurance from hunger, thirst, and hardship.

• There are two joys in fasting:

1. Breaking the fast (iftar)

2. Meeting Allah, as fasting is beloved to Him.

3. Takreem (Honor and Purification)

• Fasting purifies the soul through spiritual acts.

• It encourages more worship and strengthens ones relationship with Allah.

4. Rahmah (Mercy and Blessings)

• Fasting brings divine mercy, blessings, and Allah SWT love.

• Rewards are multiplied, especially during Laylatul Qadr, which is one of the last ten nights of Ramadan and is better than a thousand months.

• Fasting has been made obligatory, just as it was for those before you, so that you may attain Daud

• The best form of fasting is the fast of Prophet Daud fasting on alternate days.

• The people of Prophet Nuh (Noah) and even the Jahiliyyah (pre-Islamic era) used to fast on the day of Ashura. (Narration from Ibn Umar RA)

• The obligatory fasting is only for specific days (Ramadan).

• If one is sick or traveling, they are permitted to break their fast but must make up for it on other days (rukhsah & concession).

• Those who are unable to fast should pay fidyah (feeding the poor).

• Giving more in charity is encouraged, but making up the fast is still better.

• One must make up for the exact number of missed days of fasting in Ramadan.

• If a servant inquires about Allah, know that He is near.

• Allah answers the prayers of those who sincerely call upon Him.

• Therefore, servants should obey His commands and have faith in Him.
