Book: The Bartimaeus trilogy

The book is about a shapeshifting demon that is trying to steal an amulet called "The Amulet of Samarkand," and he has a really funny adventure. It is also about a boy who wants to learn about demons and possibly want to stop Bartimaeus. The boy's name is Nathaniel.

Comments: I really want to get into the Bartimaeus trilogy series. It is a mix of magic, demons, sillyness, and a weird amount of rampage!
If I could ask a question to Jonathan Stroud, it would be, why does Nathaniel want to learn about demons?

Book: The unicorn rescue society: the Jersey devil

       My opinion on this book is that it is very exciting and the Jersey devil actually exists. The Jersey devil the author wrote about had hooves in the back and claw like paws in the front it also had bat like wings and it was blue and furry. As for how Alexa described the Jersey devil as a mythical creature of the pine barrens with hooves in the back and claws in the front, and horns on its face with leathery bat like wings.


       This book was very interesting and exiting and made me want to make books similar to the book Casey Gidwitz wrote.

  Honey is a story of everyday life with a twist to it.
  The main character- Melody- hears from the next door neighbor's girl- Teeny Nelson- that Henry has been bitten by the love bug. Melody thinks it's her dad but it isn't. It's the Pharmacists sister's cat. Melody's dad has been dating someone, but Melody doesn't know who. Meanwhile an old friend moves in and starts a beauty shop called "The Beehive".

I think that Sarah Weeks wrote this amazing book, and I really suggest it.

When I started reading again today, I noticed Nathaniel was being very bad. He did some very bad things, such as releasing a bunch of mites on a group of magicians as they left, and lying about going to the correct class. And he also had nothing to do with demons at that point! Bartimaeus was stil flying and running around with the Amulet of Samarkand. Nathaniel even thought this: that's what you think, and, ha! nope!

Book: the one and only bob

In this book there are exciting and sad moments. Like this moment is sad,Julia Bob's owner yells for him (Bob the dog) to jump in her backpack so they can flee the tornado that is approaching. Bob slips and falls of the wall he is standing on. Julia’s dad pulls Julia away fleeing the tornado. Julia screams out for Bob but sadly has to leave.


Luckily Bob is a very strong dog and manages to survive.
This part of the book to me was very heartbreaking but also exciting because now I get to read on about the adventures of Bob!

1. Reaction to Story: This story is about an alien named Zeke who is from the planet Tragas but lives on earth disguised as a young boy around the age of 10. I like how the story is about Zeke to hide the fact that he is an alien, but only person, his friend knows that he is, his friend Harris.  In one funny scene in this book, Zeke can't find a Halloween costume, so he decides to go as his normal alien self outside of his human disguise and he looks super weird: he has five eyes, six tentacles and one long leg! Zeke's costume looks so real he is awarded the best prize for best Halloween costume. I really like this story because it is really funny, especially the parts where Harris tries to keep Zeke's true identity hidden. 
Questions for author: How did you come up this character Zeke? Why and alien and not something or someone else.
Literary element: Theme: friendships are more about who people are rather than what they look like. Book: Harry Potter and the Half Blood-Prince

When I read, Harry was walking down Pivot Drive with Dumbledore. Then when Dumbledore said “wand out,” it felt like he was being forced through a rubber tube. Then he found himself in a deserted village square. Dumbledore lead him into a house, that was very messy, and Harry thought there was a fight there, or a murder. Then he went inside, the wallpaper was torn, the piano was destroyed on top of a broken chandelier in the center of the room. Then there was an overly stuffed armchair, which Dumbledore poked with a wand. There was a loud ouch, and where the armchair was, was a very fat old man lying down, rubbing his tummy where he was poked. Then they used some magic to clean up the house, clear the dragon blood off the wall, fix the chandelier, and fixed the piano. After that, they had a conversation and
some drinks, where Harry pursued the man into coming back to Hogwarts to teach. The man’s name was Horace. After that, they went to the Weasleys home. Then Ms.Weasley made some onion soup, and had a little talk with Harry. Also Dumbledore left. 
Then Mr.Weasley came down the stairs because of the scent of onion soup. Then, Harry went to sleep. It felt like an instant when he woke up, and he had barely enough time to find his glasses before Ron hammered him over the head. Then Hermione yelled “We didn’t know you were already here!” After that, Harry got breakfast in bed, and then they got to see the scores of their classes. On the page I read Nickie (the main character) has lost her diary and her day is dreadful, until she gets home that’s when she figures out that her little sister has taken it to show-and-tell!


This page reminded me of book 2 because her arch nemesis Mekenzie hollister stole her duffel bag and Nickie had to sneak around to find Mekenzie and her duffel bag, like Nickie had to do to find her diary in book 3.

This book is about this kid named Desmond who is an inventor and makes ghost traps. There is another character named Andres who has a ghost in his house and needs help. He asks for Desmonds help in catching the ghost that lives in his house using Desmonds traps. The story reminds me of the movie Ghostbusters, but with kids which makes it even cooler! In the first chapter when Andres meets Desmond, they didn't get along, but they slowly start becoming friends and form a ghost catching club and begin to start helping others catch ghosts that are disturbing them. They even have their phone number to call if people want catch ghosts: 555-NO-GHOST. This book is the first in the series and so far it's a super fun and exciting story with lots of adventure and even some scary moments. I like how the kids have power over scary ghosts by using creativity and their inventions! Today when I read, they went on a train to Hogwarts, and they had sat in the compartment with Horace, who seemed much more happier than the other night. When they  were getting off the train, Malfoy hit Harry and stepped on his nose and fingers, then threw the invisibility cloak over him and left. Then Tonks came and got him off the train before it left. The group of kids meet this old friend of theirs named Princess Petronella in Shimlaras house.They have a conversation at the princesses house. They met an agent named (or code named) XYZ40. The planet Volcomania attacked Whimsy and the planet Whimsy is basically a pacifist planet, sooo the have no chance of winning. And Shimlaras parents where captured on Volcomania, and so it remains to be seen if they get them back.

My opinion: This is a good book and you should read it.
