Because if you are stuck in the rain you might have to call your parents to pick you up. If you are ever in an emergency like a fire or someone dangerous is in your building/house you need to be able to call the police or an ambulance if someone is hurt. If you have a long distance friend/family member, you should be able to call the family member/friend by FaceTime. As a parent, you should be able to contact your children if anything is wrong. As a parent, you might be worried that your children might be bullied if they have an old phone. If you get abducted you have to call the police to save you if you know where you are. If you are lost, you need to be able to see your live location via google maps or send it to a family member, and with old phones you cannot do this

Yes. Children in primary school should have smartphones because you could be walking home and someone could be following you/doing suspicious things that you need to report or tell 111/999, and you could’ve been hurt (mentally or physically) and you’ll need to tell someone.

My opinion is yes, I agree for primary school children to have a smartphone/mobile phone, my reason to this debate is a good one and it should count, like everyone else’s. My reason for my statement in this debate is that a phone can be used for many good reasons. I will now list the pros and cons of phones in primary school.

Pros

It can help with education and study reasons for school

You can keep in touch with the latest phone additions for calling

Cons

It could damage your eyes and has a chance to give you epilepsy

You could have an addiction to your phone and become aggressive because you don’t have your phone
