Sebastião da Gama was a Portuguese poet and writer who was also famous as a pedagogue in the book he wrote about the daily life of
his classes and which he titled “Diário”, published in 1962. Its reading can still be useful today
to teachers, particularly in these times when the pedagogical relationship is not easy. Its pedagogy (on the positive side) focuses on the student,
in respect and love for him, looking for his happiness.

Becoming aware of what really matters ( the priorities) among the schools leaders ( all those that lead a school group not only the proncipal) is a synonym of discussing visions that merge into one and after setting the goal (s) of that school vision, you need to think of strategies, ways of achieving that goal, partly imposed by those school learders in thir teams but also being open to discussing the possibilies, the best ways available to make the "dream" come true and the ways to assess from time to time that vision's project.

I could quote Malala Yousafzai or remember Anne Sullivan behind Hellen Keller but my picture is about a worry of today's reality: it seems that only results matter but the way to get them...

Never forget the power of 'One Good Adult' on the young people that we teach.

In our school we worked through an 18 month process to establish our schools vision, and to sum it up in 4 key words - Courtesy, Loyalty, Learning and Responsibility.
