We do not agree with the order of this hierarchy, and would reorder some of these. Cognitive needs to be higher up in the pyramid since people need their education enabled to work and contribute to society. This is our order of how the hierarchy pyramid should be.
Top of the pyramid to bottom:
Transcendence
Self-Actualization
Aesthetic Needs
Cognitive Needs
Esteem Needs
Belonging and Love Needs
Safety Needs
Physiological Needs

Activity #1
1. The main conflict of this book is how to be a healthy and strong runner as a young woman running in a system designed for men. The issue is person vs. society.
2. This is way more significant in real life because this is a serious issue that needs to be addressed so runners can be healthy while still achieving their goals.
https://www.ncaa.org/sports/2014/11/4/mind-body-and-sport-eating-disorders.aspx#:~:text=Performance%20consequences&text=Because%20of%20inadequate%20nutrition%2C%20student,the%20capacity%20to%20manage%20emotions

Activity #2
- Question #1: We feel like everyone/all human lives have the same value. However, the societally-perceived value of people changes and gets higher as individuals achieve more from the pyramid.
- Question #6: In the running world, Lauren is gaining more "value" by competing in high level varsity competitions. This is allowing her to receive more recognition in the running world and achieve higher levels of the pyramid. However, she needs to be careful the lower levels of the pyramid such as physiological and safety needs are still being met. If she doesn't do this, she might reach a limit, leading to the pyramid collapsing making it so she can no longer achieve higher levels of the pyramid in the future.
