2 Types

Firewalls for hardware protects between your computer and the internet. Really good for a network ( or multiple computers) espeically stops bad items from getting to the network. It is an extra line of defense.

Software Comes with the computer or you can download it from a reputatble source. Good to control items on individual applications but you have to be sure to update the firewall often.
