How is cultural difference contributing to miscommunication?

All three members are from different countries and have varying Fund of Knowledge. Because Charles can't work due to not being an American citizen, he may not understand the time commitment that Richard's job requires.

Richard is a young white male, with certain privileges. Sofia and Charles are both financing their own educations, whereas this is something Richard does not have to worry about. This could contribute to the miscommunication about the importance of the project to each individual. Charles and Sofia need to maintain certain grades in order to keep their scholarships.

Sofia is the quiet type and is not communicating to the boys the work she has already done. And the boys are not willing to listen to her ideas, this may be a gender discrimination issue.

Everyone has a different way they want work to be delegated, but no one is expressing the way they want to work together.

Charles is more frugal with his money, so he prefers to meet in places he doesn't have to pay to access. And he doesn't have to pay there (coffee shops, etc...)

Sofia's Funds of Knowledge is demonstrated through her tech savvy abilities. She could help the group design the presentation and add technical elements the boys may not be able to. Sofia has also seen her brother be kicked out of college and this could possibly motivate her to work.

Charles is a more creative, visionary type. He has lots of ideas but struggles with bringing them to fruition. Charles prefers face-to-face communication, maybe alluding to the fact he was raised in a collaborative community.

Richard could use his Funds of Knowledge relating to the expectations for the project to help the group bring their ideas together and execute them.

Isabella is an American born citizen. Her parents are immigrants from Mexico. She grew up in upper-class neighborhood near the university and her parents are funding her schooling. Isabella is a outspoken, driven student, maintaining a 4.0 average. She tends to take charge of every group project she is a part of. She likes things done early and she expects high quality work from all of her group mates.
Isabella wants to meet with the group for two hours a week in the university library.

Potential issues: Isabella may come off as overbearing to her more introverted group mates. She doesn't seem willing to compromise and this may cause tension within the group as well. Because she was raised in an affluent neighborhood, Isabella may not as understanding of others backgrounds and Funds of Knowledges.
