The Hidden Effects of Cyberbullying

Introduction:

Cyberbullying happens when someone uses technology to tease, threaten, or embarrass others. It can make people feel sad, scared, or unwanted. I think it’s important to talk about cyberbullying because it can happen to anyone, and sometimes we don’t realise how much our words can hurt.

My Thoughts or Experience:

I once saw a mean comment posted about a student in a group chat. At first, people laughed, but later I noticed the person stopped joining our online games. It made me realise how quickly jokes can turn into bullying. If I saw something like that again, I would report it and send a kind message to the person who was hurt.

What I Learned:

I learned that Cyberbullying can spread easily and is hard to escape from. It affects people’s confidence and mental health. The best way to stop is to speak up, block negative accounts, and support your friends.

Advice or Actions:

We can make our class a safe online community by showing respect and thinking before we post. Kindness online matters just as much as kindness in person.

Positive comment:

I really liked how you shared a real example from your experience. It showed how small actions online can have big effects. I also agree that kindness online is just as important as kindness in real life.

Prompt Question / New Idea:

What do you think schools could do to encourage more students to be up standers instead of staying quiet when they see cyberbullying?
