For students entering classroom, they will sharpened pencil if needed, and get iPads ready and proceed to work on the bell ringer. For exiting the classroom, they wait to be dismissed by me.

Students are not allow to leave the room unless the office has called them. For bathroom procedures, they use the restroom signal, and if they have a restroom pass, they may go, but not during instructional time.

I use a restroom pass they don’t even ask they just put their pass on their desk and they are allowed when they can leave.. the Nurse is raise their hand.

Students must sign out before they can go to the rest room. Not during instruction or 10/10 during independent learning only. For the nurse, it emergencies only if not they need to wait till independent instruction.

Entering the classroom students grabs a half sheet of paper and go to their desk to complete the warmup until I have completed attendance. If student needs to leave the room they raise their hand and I acknowledge them and give them permission to leave. If student needs to go to the restroom or drink water they give hand signals I agree and they sign in and out.

My students go to the back table to get the required WS for the lesson as well as any supplies that they need for the lesson that are not in their pencil pouch.

My students must wait at my door to be greeted by me. They are not allow to enter unless I am at the door. They are not allowed to exit until i let them. The bell DOES NOT dismiss them.

For the bathroom, kids write their name on the board within the first 5 minutes of class…warmup and other activities going on at the same time. I spin the randomized on the board to see who goes first so that way it doesn’t matter what order they put they names on the boards. Then after 10 minutes, they can start going in that order. They know to sign in and out and take the bathroom pass with them.

Students are always expected to look at the Promethean board when they come in. This is where they find their warmup or the materials they need for the start of the class period. When they leave, students know they are expected to take part in taking care of our room. I ask students, “how should you leave your [supplies, desks, floors under your table] before you go today?” Students know the correct response is “How we found it!”

Studens may not go to the restroom during the 10/10 or direct instruction.

For exiting class during class, Ms Cuevas has a good system for restrooms where instead of interrupting class by asking out loud, students pull out their passes and leave on desk for when teacher or para is ready for them to be released.

Students gather their required materials once they enter the room. Once the bell rings, a timer is set for students, signaling that they have a minute to finish gathering their materials and get to their seat.

Walk into class and get iPads out and sitting down. If there’s a warmup they need to open up the warm up and start working on it. When it comes for bathroom breaks or anything else students have to raise hands and it can’t be during instruction. When leaving the class for the day students need to return the class iPads and plug them in. Have everything picked up and google classroom work turned in.

Check the supplies board with the magnets on the board telling you what you need. Get those items when they first walk in the room before sitting down, including class handouts for the day. Come in and start on the warm up for the day which is always listed on the board. Exiting the classroom or getting up requires raising hands for leaving seat. No leaving during 10/10 or during notes. And no leaving if no work completed. Restroom pass required to be signed by me. 10 given per 9 weeks.

Students are expected to come in and assemble their instruments, go directly to their chairs with all materials. They have 1 minute after the bell to be in their chair.

Students put their “chair in the square” and then pack up their instruments.

Students are to get their papers for the day (if any) upon entering the classroom. They go to their assigned seats and get out all supplies for the class, supplies are written on the board. Everything else remains in their backpack and backpacks are placed under their desks.

Students know not to enter the class if I’m not standing by the door to greet them. While entering, they must grab a pencil from the table near the door and unpack backpacks within all materials. Backpack goes in the back of the room. If a student has to go to the nurse, they must raise hand. The bell does not dismiss them. I do. They have a restroom pass.

Going to the nurse usually requires a conversation with the student, but restroom break is a raise of the hand with fingers crossed. It is not during instruction.

When entering the classroom, students know to place their backpacks in the stands making sure their phones are in their bags. Once the bell rings students have 5 minutes to be dressed and in roll call.

All students must come and ask to go to the restroom/nurse. The locker room is off limits once everyone is dressed and in line.

Five minutes before the bell rings, the students are told to get dressed and line up by the rail until they are dismissed by Lavine or myself.
