What do YOU think is the purpose of the porter scene at the start of Scene 3?

To know if people are coming to check on the king to check if he is awake or still asleep.

He smeared the blood of the king onto the guards of the king.

Lady Macbeth blended into the crowd of people to see what happened to the king.

maybe shows how hes a good distraction from anything because he drinks but can still do his job but he also compared it to hell.

I think the purpose of the scene is too show that the kings servant is always drunk and not very good at his job.

He tells everyone that the guards did it because they had blood all over there hands and faces, while the daggers we're hidden on their pillows.
