All of the villages in Ancient Egypt were under one ruler called the Pharaoh. The Pharaohs are the kings of Egypt and they had absolute power. And when the Pharaohs died they went through a stage of embalming where they would take out the organs of the Pharaoh and place them in jars. They would also cover the body in salt and fill the body with spices and wrap the body in bandages to make a mummy.

The end of the Old kingdom was a big power struggle for Egypt because the Pharaohs and Nobles brought violence to Egypt for 200 Years. That meant the middle kingdom had to rebuild all over again but at least the middle kingdom brought peace and not violence.
